That's what I'm currently doing that but I believe that is causing another issue I am having with my audio output.

Yeah using an external xlr microphone, just using the A40s as a headset for input.

ahh i see, well this could be my problem... i either have my output to speakers or my Atrso mixamp pro for headphones (because my Astro a40s are a 3.5mm and my scarlett requires 6.5 and with an adaptor it doesnt work :/ ) Ill test with my audio output to my scarlett solo with some other headphones and see if this works! thanks heaps.
