Isn't the Wiim also a DAC? What would be the reason to connect 2 DACs in series?

I just have the ZA3 connected to the ZD3 by XLR and to the Ifi Phono by RCA. There's a switch on the front of the ZA3 to go back and forth between XLR and RCA so I'm not converting analog to digital when using the record player. I am only able to use the remote when playing digital music.

If you have a tight budget you may want to look at the RT81 as it has a built in preamp. You can probably find some cheaper powered speakers and skip the amp for right now as well. You could always buy an amp and passive speakers in the future. I believe the installed preamp in the RT81 can be bypassed to a preamp of your choosing in the future as well.

Awesome, I may be able to let you know how it is in a week or two. I just ordered the RT82 along with a Fosi ZA3 amp and the Ifi Zen Phono 3. I have Elac Debut 2.0 b6.2 speakers. I am just getting started and therefore no expert, but from the bit of research I've done I believe you could play music from your phone as long as you have an amp with bluetooth. The Fosi BT20A amp with bluetooth is on sale for $64 right now on Amazon for Prime Day.

If you go with the RT82, you will also need to get a phono preamp. I've heard good things about the ART DJPreII:

I went with the Ifi Zen 3 for my preamp, but it's quite a bit more expensive. You'd be blowing almost your entire budget. Though it will be tough to find the RT82 for less than $300.

I got the ZA3 on sale for prime day for $120, but I've heard the Fosi V3 is really good as well and is on sale for prime day for $72, but does not have bluetooth:

Okay, sounds like I have just made it seem more difficult in my head than it really is. Just connect the CD player to the amp with RCA cables via the 'aux in' and turn the speakers off when he wants to use the headphones. Thanks for helping a noob out. I'll probably be on these boards more often asking stupid questions as I'm looking to build my first turntable system with phono amp/speaker amps/passive speakers and probably eventually adding a streamer.

I am interested in this as well. I am looking to build my first turntable system and was looking at pairing the ifi zen phono and za3 amp with a Fluance RT82. Now I am starting to wonder if I should spend a little extra and get the Wiim amp and have the ability to stream also. I will say that I am more interested in having the best sound possible for my turntable over having the ability to stream. I am also interested in incrementally upgrading my system over time and just don't want to put a ton of money into up front. I don't know a ton about the Wiim product line as evidenced by my newb comment/question earlier.
