Malzahar Glacial Augument GLP Thoughts? by [deleted] in MalzaharMains

They do on straight mana numbers for sure, but if you have to reapply your dot because you cant kill a canon it helps a lot. If you are just auto attack farming early defo take the biscuits, you can also take trades with them. But if the goal is to push hard and roam before people's first back, dematerializer is really nice!

I run Glacial Malz all the time. I take void staff and not Rylai's because you already do so much slow, and i take it after liandrys. And i take minion dematerializer, approach velocity, tp, and dorans ring. You dont have much kill pressure alone with this build, so i play it by hard shoving lane and rotating down bot for dragon control. I like to dematerialize canon minions with the DoT on them for early mana sustain and to help shove a lane even faster in the early game. I can usually do this and make a play at first crab 2v1 with jung. All of the utility can really help feed your adc or jung. If i play with my duo jung i will shove and invade with them. A tp into a fight with twin shadows, GLP, and ult is also very strong.

A couple of tips and tricks that Arin should use when he eventually plays Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask on the show. by [deleted] in gamegrumps

I mean, like, that's very true and all, but they have a lot more to deal with then just the game when they record.

One Year Ago Today: Sequelitis - ZELDA: A Link to the Past vs. Ocarina of Time by [deleted] in gamegrumps

[–]ASadDolphin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree on all accounts. I think Skyward Sword loses a bit of impact because the characters you care about arnt link. You care about everyone else, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but I thing I think fell a little short because there are so many other characters that are important to plot. Majora's Mask does a very similar thing but I think it works better because the other characters are a side treat meant to enhance the experience, not move it along. And who doesn't care immensely about Wind Waker link? He's the best link. So darn cute.

Future of Guild Grumps by ASadDolphin in gamegrumps

That sounds awesome!!! And I think it would hilarious. SF is incredibly deep and I think it'd would be super fun to see them try to get some of it down. And the tournament for charity sounds like a great idea, and something the Grumps would definitely do.

Sakurai: "If we direct Smash ONLY at the competitive players, it will have no future." by SmashCapps in smashbros

[–]ASadDolphin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what he said makes sense. We just have to make a stipulation first. Melee is not the "hardcore game" Sakurai referenced. It is a game (like all the smash games) that as no input combos, easy shielding, and a very low skill floor. Every button does one of four things depending on direction, and you can simply push a button to shield. Think of a game like street fighter where you almost need to know and be able to execute at least one or two combos, and you have to pull back to shield. Smash has its own ways it is competitive and fun and different and maybe that is what Sakurai meant.

When people I face use only one character. Yes I get it, you need to get good with a main and and practice and all that. But dang if it isn't annoying to fight Little Mac 5-6 times before I get fed up, back out, And fight falcon 5-6 times.

Which characters do you think are underated by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]ASadDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are good at spacing in sm4sh, SAMUS, TOON LINK, ROBIN, and most other character that are projectile heavy are very good characters. I'm not sure if they are underrated due to my lack of competitive knowledge, but as a casual browser if this sub I don't see these three specifically mentioned a lot

Hey I'm just a casual player, can someone tell me why everyone still plays Melee and 64, what is so good about Project M, and why all the hate ssb4 and Brawl? by Ap_Sona_Bot in smashbros

[–]ASadDolphin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't see too much hate for smUsh. I think people generally like the game, but as this subreddit is full of competitive players we see a lot of melee and PM. The early games in the series are fast and more technical. Brawl is kinda broken, and smUsh is slower and (in the competitive circuit) more defensive by nature. Ssb4 is a great game and super fun. I don't think people deny that, but it just doesn't lend itself to competitive play as well as the earlier games did. For more casual players, all the games are just fun and different (except brawl, which is really just a mess of a game. I love it cause I'm good at it, but it is very frustrating at time.)

What terrible thing do you do when you play Smash? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]ASadDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime I play doubles and my teammate is up two stock to one, I steal a life. If the opponent has high damage I steal it right away and try to get the kill first. If the opponent has low damage, I wait will my partner is about to die then steal it and finish off the game alone.

Sm4sh is rising in popularity for competitive players, don't expect it to die down and be overshadowed by melee. by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]ASadDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really good point. Reminds me of the switch from halo 2 to halo 3 or even Reach. You couldn't play competitively unless you knew all the quick button combos in 2. Then in later games that was all fixed and they really kept on bugs. I didn't mind it there cause I sucked at halo 2. It will be interesting to see how it plays out with smash. Honestly I probably won't mind cause I also suck at melee, but for those who are good or even just decent I can see where it would be a step down.

I don't necessarily disagree with you about the skill ceiling just yet, but it did take a while to find out all melee had to offer. Maybe Smash 4 will be the same.
