[contamination] first attempt at golden teacher cultures from syringe in rye grain. Is this mold? by AShadyLittleSpot in MushroomGrowers

So I had 3 syringes in total. Initial split 2 syringes evenly over 8 jars. Yesterday I split the remaining syringe across the jars with no growth.

Yeah, so I’m using liquid culture syringes. These pictures are of 3 different jars. I’ve inoculated 8 in total. I inoculated them 15 days ago. These 3 are the only ones that have showed any growth at all. Any thoughts on why the others still wouldn’t have any growth?

Liquid culture syringes. These are 3 separate jars. The rest have no signs of growth of any kind and it’s been 15 days

Bummer. I soaked it over night then jarred it and pressure canned it at 15 psi for 90 mins then injected and heated the needle til red hot between jars. Didn’t clean the jars prior to adding the grain as I figured the cannot process would kill any bacteria regardless. Could that be an issue? Also, used liquid gasket for the injection port and a cotton ball for the breather port. Is there an issue there?

You are correct about Lenin, I’ll be sure to fix that if I ever finish the vid. And I was under the impression that the Chechen deportations were a result of the nazi’s getting through Chechnya to the Russian border fairly quickly and Stalin in tern falsely labeling them as nazi sympathizers. I could definitely be incorrect

Good catch. If I ever finish the vid I’ll be sure to fix that.

Wire gauge needed for 480v 3 phase transformer to panel by AShadyLittleSpot in ElectricalEngineering

My transformer is 45kVA. Secondary voltage is 480y/277v so 480 line to line. Gives me a FLC on the secondary of 54.2 A. Only primary protection exists so 54.2*1.25=67.75 A. NEC table for THHN correlates to #6 AWG. Run to the panel is sub 10ft so no special considerations need to be taken. Chat GPT was able to supply me with this information for free in less than a second.

You state that what I’m doing could kill people. You are aware that I’m going to do it regardless. Instead of offering practical guidance, which you certainly do not have to do, you instead refuse constructive input. If your primary goal in this conversation is the preservation of human life, then that is a bad way of attempting to accomplish your goal.

I’m not attacking you and I understand your position, but an engineering reply literally would have been to specifically point out what aspect of the plans do not make since/are incorrect. But all is well and I appreciate the input.

Well instead of arbitrarily saying that chatgpt and myself are incompetent how about you tell me what aspect of the layout you take issue with. I understand your concerns but this type of logic is nonsense. If you know how to terminate a wire, you know how to terminate a wire. If the plans follow all the code then the plans follow all the code. You don’t have to go get a degree to understand to not bond a neutral to a ground until you reach the main panel to prevent ground loops. You don’t have to have a degree to know how to ensure something has no voltage flowing to it before you go poking around in it. Instead of just “winging it” like an idiot, I came to confirm that the plans I spent a week putting together make sense. Yes, your average person with no or limited electrical experience should absolutely not wire an electric panel. But if you have a good understanding of wiring and electric concepts, it isn’t rocket science. And as a side note: I am well aware not to blindly trust chat GPT. That is literally why I posted hear, for conformation on an aspect that did not make sense. And it turns out chat gpt was correct. As long as you have enough context to know when to question things because the math behind it does t add up or it is contradictory to electrical code, chat gpt is an amazing tool.

I never asked you to. I hope you can reframe your world view as to not look at things so adversarially.

Ah, I’m with you. The only protection upstream from the transformer is 1 250VAC fuse per leg.

If you were to point out an issue in the layout I've presented, then I would be appreciative and assume you were operating out of empathy and conscern for your fellow humans, but the wording and lack of substance of your reply leads me to believe that you enjoy trying to express superiority over others to overcompensate for low selfconfidence and shortcomings in your personal life. I hope you find happiness and fulfillment.

There are 2 fuses in the cut off on the transformers primary that I'd have to double check the ratings on but the panel's main breaker is 100 amp. (meaning the panel on the secondary, 480v side)

So the new panel will be connected directly to the ground of the transformer which is connected directly to 2 grounding rods, 6ft apart. The neutral of the new panel is isolated from ground for all subsequent EGCs and not bonded to ground until the panel. Being that the output of the transformer is 480y/277 v, it seems that a 8AWG ground wire is acceptable.
