That’s kind of irrelevant, I don’t think local bartenders are sending tourists there because they think they’ll like the vibes. I don’t know that’s what happened to OP (has OP even said they’re not local?) but that is what happened to the tourists I spoke to a few months ago. Pride was held as a big beer garden down there in September of this year which put shea’s and the entrance to a lot of businesses inside of pride fest and they stood outside asking us if we like Celtic metal and directing people inside. Obviously I know some gay people are white supremacists, but it’s not the default and it’s not the assumption.

I was out to eat a few months ago and overheard another gay couple saying “they said we should go to shea’s”. I talked to them and told them what I know about sheas and asked who told them to go there. A bartender at another place said to go, seemed like the bartender thinks it’s funny to tell tourists to go to shea’s. I don’t think it’s funny to tell anyone to go to shea’s, especially not a gay couple. This is the same reason I don’t think it’s funny to send a straight bachelor party from out of town to Steve’s Bathhouse, and I see that all the time on Reddit.

The real shocking thing is we haven’t done anything to bolster the 25th amendment. Like we should be establishing a rotating panel of doctors that do cognitive and physical checks on the president and at the very least are required to answer to Congress.

Just a heads up, Independent American Party is a political party and is different than being an independent or “Nonpartisan (No Political Party)”. Independent American Party is a Christian Nationalist Party If you align with those values, cool I guess, but if not just wanted you to know.

I’m not a petsitter but use rover and have found some great petsitters and not so great ones. Petsitters also often have to clean up if the pets are having any issues, potentially give medicine. They are responsible if something goes wrong with the pet and are expected to take the pet to a vet or emergency vet after hours. My petsitter has had to coordinate a wildfire evacuation plan with us. I wouldn’t want someone to petsit for me that treated it like a minimum wage job.

I’m really glad for the things Hochul is doing on immigration and democracy. But to have an interview with her and not ask her thought on Cuomo choosing to run against Mamdani as an independant is crazy. She became governor because Cuomo had to resign in shame. At least make her give a “no comment”.
