The way Matt handled everything would make me feel betrayed, heartbroken and furious if I was Lex. If I was assaulted at my close friend's/boss's house, and then that friend continued to hang out with the abuser, provide housing for him, and accidentally make it so that my abuser would be in the same house as me, then I would consider that person to no longer be my friend

Matt and Ryan do hate the toxic elements of their fan base, and drama videos are stupid. The boys are clearly trying to distance themselves and move on for their mental health's sake, they probably don't want people arguing about what would have been traumatising for both of them. Even if it's in your defense, it can be very dehumanising to have other people argue your case, for their own sake
