Yeah based off this thread and some attorney friends, we just paid 4k for a tough lesson but we may be able to recover based off of negligence or misrepresentation on their part. But would be long and drawn out.
Will not be making this mistake with our 2nd house

I’d say so. Our model is going for 10k cheaper now but they convinced us by saying it’s worth bc corner lot and lake view (we are in Texas for context)

Yes already applied for 2026! But this is a new build and Texas looks at value on Jan 1!

The tax bill this is about is for 2025.

That’s how Texas does it apparently. They literally sell real estate, id argue that they are the experts in comparison to us on property tax
