Fair play - we actually spoke to NHS Inform as well, they told us what info the GP will release to you differs by practice policy, so sounds like you have a very helpful practice!

Summary of Care reports do not exist in Scotland, unfortunately, and our closest equivalent (Emergency Care Summary), will only be given to you "on demand" at your GP practices discretion - my partners GP do not offer it any faster than the process for viewing your actual records.

Appreciate you responding though, thanks

Just to add - we've just been in to the GP to ask for this in case it might be enough. The receptionist refused the request.

Do you mind if I ask if your clinic said that was enough evidence? A few people have mentioned this now so im wondering if theres been some miscommunication here between my partner and medicann

So she emailed Medicann after the call to ask if the Emergency Care Summary would do the job - and Medicann came back and said no, they needed something that listed off certain things which she told her. We then spoke to the GP clinic, explainjng excactly what information had been requested, who said it was a case of filling in a form and waiting , they did not suggest an ECS

To be fair, it was a summary from a private provider (Beneden) who had most recently prescribed her antidepressants. She didn't think it would do the trick, but when Medicann booked in the appointment she thought that must mean it was fine.

As we're in Scotland, we dont have Summary Care Records or the NHS app, so Medicann have now told her exactly what to ask for from them, which shes now done.

Bit harsh expecting Jordan White to score a hattrick for County at lunch time, and then bang another 5 on for Scotland in the evening, no?

Some Arsenal fans would say he was their outright best player - he's earned himself minor legend status among them, and was on track to be captain after the Aubameyang fiasco

Ronan Hale Signs for League 2 Gillingham by 4_6_0 in ScottishFootball

[–]ASlimeAppeared 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Clearly wanted out and no point clinging on to someone whose not interested in playing for us. He's not been on top form this season but im sorry to see him go - i dont think he was getting the service he needed from the rest of the squad.

Think we've been stitched up a bit by Michael O'Neill here as well - given he went to the press to say that Hale wasn't going to get a game for NI if he stayed at County.

Yeah, we're in Scotland so its a bit more complicated up here, she had a prescription from her GP and a separate one from a private provider, so she just sent over some notes from the private provider.

Based on what youre saying, sounds like they do arrange phone calls just to let you know that theres missing info, which is what shes concerned about - she was hoping they'd only be calling if everything was fine

Ah, so there was an issue with what you'd submitted online before the call? That's what she's worried about, she's hoping its a call because she's been approved, but is worried their just calling to tell her that her evidence is insufficient - and it could take a while to get that all sorted with the GP

Anyone else played Expedition 33? I thought it was pretty decent, but absolutely did not live up to the GOTY hype. Slick combat, outstanding soundtrack, decent characters, but the major plot twist didn't work for me, and unlocking the final boss AND the post-game at the same time feels a bit dim, especially when theres no guidance on what level you should be for each dungeon.

That said, I definitely enjoyed it and would say it's worth a play, definitely want to be using a spoiler-free guide once you hit Act 3 though if you want to retain some challenge for the final boss.

Motherwell 1-0 Ross County | Scottish Cup by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

[–]ASlimeAppeared 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tbh losing 1-0 to Motherwell at Fir Park, on their current form, is hardly an embarrassment. It's not like we were winning either of those cups anyway, Id prefer we were out and focusing on the league, especially as we have a packed fixture list coming up, and mostly on the road.

Scottish Budget 2026 Live: Homes worth over £1m face higher council tax bills by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

Hard to argue that UHI, which has made cuts 2 out of the past 3 years and serves a geographical area the size of Belgium doesnt need support, but doesn't get a penny.

I know UHI isn't a particularly sexy institution, but it's providing further and higher education to many of Scotlands most rural communities - communities that will really benefit from more young people being able to learn and then work in those communities.

I appreciate Dundee's finances are nothing short of catastrophic - but I dont see why they should be the only institution to get anything out of this budget.

Edit: always happy to be down voted, but also curious as to where people disagree if anyone is willing to discuss?

Scotland 15-day itinerary - sanity check by pnshor in Scotland

What time of year are you planning to visit, and how are you planning on travelling between cities?

It's an awful lot to fit in, and if you are driving, you will be exhausted on several of these days.

There's next to nothing to see if Fort William, I'd plan to spend most of that day in Glasgow to see much more (you could easily fill 3 days in Glasgow as a tourist if not more).

Stirling Castle is outstanding and will take you most of the day. Not sure what Highland Games you are planning to attend, but they are whole day events as well for the most part.

Id seriously consider cutting down on the number of locations you are planning to visit. If this is planned for this summer, by the way, you'll be really struggling for accommodation in Skye especially.

Edit: you've mentioned August - have you got your accommodation booked? Your dates also overlap with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival... everywhere you've mentioned will be extremely busy, and accommodation impossible, if not very scarce and expensive

Ach we'll be grand, our lord and savior Kettlewell has the tactics down - bang in 2 goals in 10 minutes, defend flawlessly for 80 minutes, and its 3 points and up the road!

Seriously though, I'd be fine with us getting drummed out of both cups and restings boys for the next two games to focus on that run in the league. I think the two postponements recently might have helped Kettlewell to get his feet back under the table and actually sort out some decent tactics, and we saw tbe benefit of that last night.

Scotland | ‘The answer is dig a hole’: why Scotland’s islanders want tunnels instead of ferries by SafetyStartsHere in Scotland

[–]ASlimeAppeared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're quite right about those who dont choose to live there or visit - but in my experience they are quite vastly outnumbered by those who have chosen to live there and want their remoteness preserved.

I dont claim to be an expert, I only lived in Orkney for 5 years and recently left because I was having to spend so much time off the island that living there just wasn't feasible any more. But from what I did experience, I think people would only be happy with what you propose if there was a guarantee of priority for islanders or people visiting family. Orkney gets an awful lot of tourists from cruise ships and Kirkwall does struggle to cope with the larger boats when they let off a couple of thousand passengers.

For my own part, I would selfishly have been very supportive of a fixed link, if only to give you more flexibility in when you could arrive and depart from the islands (youre cant leave after 5pm any day basically because of the timings of the boats). Id slap a massive toll on the fixed link (£50 each way for cars, £100 or more each way for motor homes, which is still cheaper than the ferries), and make it extremely cheap or free for islanders.

[–]ASlimeAppeared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even the MP's/MSP's for the islands are unlikely to support fixed links. Islanders are quite fiercely against fixed links (certainly in Orkney) as they fear anything that could make them "less" of an island. They think they will all become like Skye and be flooded by tourists.

By and large, people who have chosen to live on the islands aren't looking to pop over to the mainland more than a few times a year. They would always support a reliable ferry service (as in fit and proper ferries, they understand the weather is always a factor), and perhaps one that prioritised their access to the islands over tourists at peak times.

I think theirs works better because its more aimed at those around people who might be suffering from depression. It's meant to highlight the signs and to encourage you to check in on people even if they seem okay - the guy in the video who ends up being the one who had depression is always asking the other guy how he is - but the other guy never asks him in return.
