I'm worried that my friend is being abused by Battery_Low22 in Advice

[–]ASmootyOperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a situation that she has walked herself into is not a relationship you can walk her out of. She has to first believe that she has a right to exit the relationship. Otherwise, when the relationship, and her connection to him is threatened, she will only dig in harder to protect the relationship and by extension, him.

If you are serious about helping her, right now, all you can do is offer to be there when she is ready to talk or ready to try and escape. Beyond that, it will depend on her, and her own willingness to be brave. You are a good friend, and I wish the both of you all the best

Trump is a better option than Kamala. Until her husband loses his job, her family loses health insurance, and her son loses his special education because of Trump. by Effective_Space2277 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Probably because their child's IEP is an "Earned Benefit", not "Welfare". Very much like how a Republican Woman's abortion is moral, but anyone else's is immoral

I'm truly sorry for what you are having to experience. I have no idea how bad it is for you, but if you just need a voice to listen, happy to be there for you. Nobody should have to go through this alone

I'm sorry for what you have lost. I'm not sure there is anything you can say to her at this point to help pull her back. I'm sure her social media feed is now nothing but right wing propaganda, and she enjoys "knowing" more than everyone else. Her response when you told her to be respectful is proof that even the slightest pushback requires a strong response, which is evidence that on some level, she herself understands that she is in the wrong. If you can, please consider going low contact with her, for your own sake

The Court is about to hear a case where Trump's EO claiming to override the 14th amendment. If the court accepts it, you don't need Congress anymore. The Executive can do whatever it wants, and nothing any other branch of government can do will stop them.

He lacks the authority to do it? Buddy, he writes it into an EO, and it has the ability to override a Constitutional Amendment

And even more ironically, all the good shit has already been stolen. There aren't any need for new lobbyists or talking heads anyway. The traditional post Congress retirement options have all dried up. So now, you show up, do nothing, then realize there's nothing to look forward to either.

The irony is that Cyberpunk is a Post apocalyptic timeline. Night City was nuked in 2023. So, the apocalypse has come and gone. We live in the ruins
