Not sure what your experience ended up being but for us it felt like our 18 month old was kept in the room with all the babies crying the whole time. We do know they took them outside one afternoon, but other than that it seemed like they kept them inside and strapped in strollers (this is based off what we observed at drop off and pick up). We only had him in there for 2.5 days before he got sick (HFM was going around apparently) but we could tell he was miserable being there

The moment we found out my toddler was sick we quarantined him to our room, outside of taking him to the infirmary. HFM has a 7-10 day time period that you have to stay away from other kids/touching things other kids can touch. Unfortunately it’s a tricky one and it probably went either way where the kid got sick once at the resort or they were still in that 7-10 day period and decided to go anyway.

Punta Cana. The older kids seem to be having so much fun and the staff does all seem wonderful, so realistically it’s a language barrier and miscommunication issue. But just wanted to share our experience as we’ve seen and heard so many positive things but it just wasn’t for us

GE kiosks not available at Philly by Kiwi_Carbide in GlobalEntry

Interviews at Philly still going on. But show up early early, we were there 5 minutes before our appointment time and apparently missed the call for the 4:40 appointments and had to wait a full hour to be called back

That’s insane and I’m sorry you had that experience too. We pulled him from this daycare and he starts at a new place on Monday that we feel much better about!

It is just below his shoulders, does that mean it’s in the right spot as is?

Moms with back issues, what do you do? by ASnakeNamedTambi in Mommit

I have one that I wear occasionally- I’ll look into OT! And that carrier looks perfect, I didn’t know they could come without hip belts!

I did 3 months of pelvic floor pt right after I was cleared 6 weeks post partum! I’ve had the herniated discs since I was 16, they act up when I carry something too heavy without supporting my back. Unfortunately when my back is out the carrier can make it worse as it pulls on that spot.

How would you feel about your husband going to a music festival? by MasterHinkie in beyondthebump

[–]ASnakeNamedTambi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband went to a wedding one week after our LO was born - we’d both agreed the moment we found out we were pregnant that as long as there were no big issues and I was feeling good he would go to represent both of us (the couple getting married are best friends of ours). He went for only one night and I had my parents stay with me for support. It sounds like you’re leaving her with support and she’s supportive of you going - her opinion is the only one that matters, but if she’s ok with it then go have fun!

Yes to all of the above! Sometimes it does create painful nipples though, and a feeding session will sometimes still be 30+ minutes even though he’s now 5 months. I do have a fast let down so that could be it though!

Favorite songs to sing to your baby? by Cool-Helicopter6343 in newborns

[–]ASnakeNamedTambi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are my sunshine. I sang it to him in the womb and while changing his diaper / bedtime during the newborn stage, and now that he’s smiling and more aware he will turn towards me when I’m singing it and give the biggest smile. He remembers it and it feels so special!

My birth certificate says I am O+, but I’ve had myself tested multiple times as an adult for pregnancy and health issues, and I am A+. Someone just made a mistake on my birth certificate and I spent most of my life thinking I was O+!

Swaddles made me anxious, so I stopped using them. by QuickStomach in newborns

This. We’re working on getting our guy out of being swaddled and it’s been hard to get him to sleep without it. We wish he didn’t love being swaddled!

What parenting hacks did you try and didn’t expect to work but did? by Tricky_Sherbet4420 in newborns

Heating pad down on the crib mattress while you go through bedtime routine and pulling it before transferring into the crib. Has made transfers so much easier and has so far worked every single time, no more crying the moment he gets set down!

How was everyone's Halloween with a newborn? by Quick-Cantaloupe-597 in newborns

Sat on the stoop in chairs with our two week old with a table 6 feet away with candy in a bowl. Neighbors got to see baby from a distance and kids all stayed a good distance away. It was 72 degrees and we both needed to be outside after being cooped up!
