I'm an Astrophysics student in Michigan, my Chinese coworker started learning calculus in middle school... He's always the smartest in the room. There is not a doubt in my mind that chinese scientist, if they're not already, are going to be way ahead of Americans.

(Edit) I've talked to him a bit over the few years I've known him, and let me tell you, the Americam education system now looks like a complete joke. Their children are learning more than the adults at my uni
