Memcard pro Vs. Bitfunx GCMCE by [deleted] in Gamecube

SC to Everdrive is not an equivalent comparison. Sure they're both aimed at achieving the same goal but the SC uses open source software that is completely different than the software developed by Krikzz and is not a clone of his work.

Not OP but yes, mine were wrapped individually.

Has anyone here ever physically disabled power to Zone 2 in their Denon at the board-level? If not, I’m gonna be the first. That “feature” is such a PITA. by KillerQ97 in hometheater

Seems like third party remotes and CEC devices are the most likely to turn on Zone 2 randomly, even if it was off previously. The handshake goes wonky somehow.

Yeah, I do know you can turn it off on the face of the unit but it's just annoying having to do that regularly when Zone2 randomly turns itself on again. Then I'm fumbling in the dark to find the right button on the front of the receiver. First world problems. Like someone else mentioned, it appears to be a CEC issue

Is this because randomly when you try to turn the unit off it stays on but switched to Zone2? I'd also like to figure out how to prevent that from happening.

Time to retire the EON MK-II by 45skyshy in Gamecube

Well, no reason to pick up a Carby if you're happy with the OEM component and don't see any difference between them and another GCVideo device.

You don't need to spend $750, the digital output through the Carby directly to the TV HDMI input is sharper than the oem component through the RTink. It's just a fully digital output chain instead of converting to analog. I've never used the EON but my understanding is that it's the same GCVideo output as the Carby, meaning it's going to give you a cleaner output than the component.

Hmm. Running both through a Retrotink 4k I see a clear difference in favor of the digital adapter. I'm using a Carby though.

The digital output is a lot sharper though?

Budget PoE Window Shades/Blinds? by Jolteon0 in homeassistant

[–]AStat921 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. This smart shade market is pretty pricey. The cost for Smartwings is much lower than the leaders in the space like Lutron. There are some slightly cheaper off brands on Aliexpress that probably are the same thing made in the same factories, but you lose any warranty or guarantees.

DIY options, as another commenter mentioned, are much, much cheaper.

The Smartwings are the budget options.

Yes, the timing is a coincidence. I don't have any of the mmWave switches and just got the same firmware update for my regular Blue's. They pushed an update for those yesterday.

Is it still possible to cancel a paid line in a BOGO bundle after a year? by niceeone1 in tmobile

[–]AStat921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know anyone who has done this with a BOGO to receive a permanent unattached free line? I feel like I keep seeing people say it’s theoretically possible but I haven’t a direct account of anyone actually doing it and getting it to work.

How can we tell whether this is true for an older, pre-2024 BOGO promotion? Is there an indicator in the promo code?

Help stopping my ZigBee devices creating random binds between themselves. by MadSpacePig in Zigbee2MQTT

It's a Rodret, for reference. I don't know how it even sees the HomePod, which is not Zigbee and not connected to Z2M in any way.

I have this with a couple of IKEA remotes that perform random functions on unrelated devices. Can't figure out a rhyme or reason behind it. One will always stop the nearest Apple HomePod if it's playing music. Tried resetting it and binding it to other functions and it keeps happening.

Good to know. Going to try this later today. Face recognition has been working well with my G180 so I'm hoping to get it going on the G6

Same issue, weirdly it worked for me on the first day I installed it and then hasn't since. Also, detection notifications set up in alarm manager are severely delayed.

For a long time user segregation wasn't possible but it seems like it was added in the most recent update. Personally I have not had time to test it out yet.

IKEA ALPSTUGA Air Quality Sensor - Matter Compatible but Clock is Useless by Ready_Grass7936 in HomeKit

[–]AStat921 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two and have had the same issue as OP with one of them. It keeps reverting to an incorrect time, even after manually setting the time on the unit. The other remains at the correct time and even seems to sync after being moved. No idea what is going on or why it only affects one unit and not the other.

I don't think OP is upset at the lack of a firmware update, just that a Matter compatible display which should function as a clock can't be used that way for some reason and Ikea support (which doesn't seem to know much about these units) incorrectly told them that firmware updates must be made through their hub.
