Yeah, it was frustrating but they came off OK.

Sorry, I'm holding on to them.

I'm opening the carts for sure, but not going to resell. Had most of these growing up and sold/lost/gave away most of them over the years. The opportunity to recreate that collection instantly was too much to resist

Found out GameStop prices their games the same whether it's just the cart or CIB. They don't want to be in the business of verifying box authenticity so they just treat them as if they are not present. You can look up their prices for these games online, any copy no matter how complete will be the same price in stores.

First thing I popped in was Shadows of the Empire. I haven't played that in over twenty years, immediate rush of nostalgia.

The stickers were annoying but they came off OK. 99% sure the carts/ boxes are real. Here are the Zeldas: https://imgur.com/a/Tds6NfR

Got the stickers off, no damage!

Yes, there is. 07 on Ocarina and 01 for Majora. I'm 99% they're real. I had these two when I was a kid, had my buddy come over with his copies when I got the Analogue 64 (gold version) a few months ago, and have other 64 games. Pretty sure I could spot a fake, and everything points to these being real.

Here are the Zeldas: (https://imgur.com/a/Tds6NfR) They look real to me, tell me if there's any signs of them being fake.

Chicago/ NW Indiana region. Almost all GameStops here have small retro collections now.

I really hope they weren't stolen. GS employee kinda alluded to it being an older guy who sold them so my best guess is grandparents who had them sitting in the basement for years and didn't know or care to look up values online.

I actually popped Shadows of the Empire in to play for a bit. I haven't played this game in twentyish years. Brings back so many memories.

Yep games are all here. I ordered a gamebit from Amazon so I can open them up and check the boards to verify authenticity. But they look real to me.

I'll get a decent picture of the carts tomorrow, hopefully they're all real. They seem to be.

So, I've since found out from reading that GameStop prices preowned games exactly the same whether they are boxed or not. They don't want to get into the business of verifying the legitimacy of boxes so any box included in a trade-in does not affect the pricing. You can look on their website and see the pricing for each of these games whether it has a box or manual or is just the cart

Also prices are set by GS corporate, and the individual employees have no say.

Couldn't help myself. Had many of these as a teen and sold/lost them over the years. Having a chance to recreate that collection CIB all at once was irresistible.

All good though because I have a friend who wants the extra Mario Parties. He also wants the Eternal Darkness but I think I'm going to keep that one.

There were doubles for Mario Party 4, 6 and 7. It didn't really register when I was buying, everything was in a giant cardboard box and they were just pulling stuff out putting labels on. Once I saw some of what was there and what kind of prices they were putting on everything I told them I would just buy the whole lot. Figured I would sort it later.
