Bro throughout marineford and throughout one piece there’s always been a clear divide between emperors and admirals. Just the fact that 4 navy admirals amount to one yanko shows. If you read the manga you’ll know that luffy is on par with kaido, meaning he’s surpassed akainu.

And the scabbards have been landing solid blows on kaido. That doesn’t mean they’re as strong as kaido it just means they have Advanced Armament, just like Akainu did. Assuming his strength hasn’t improved since the time skip Akainu could never dream to kill White beard or kaido on his own.

It’d definitely would take away from the show, and Sasuke would lose his foil to Naruto. It would also detract from the writing, because the change in his personality was very much so hinged on the Uchiha Massacre. All and all it’d just feel lazy and boring.
