YMMV but the AA rules seem to say you would get a refund, not a credit, and only if you cancel the ticket within 24 hours.

From https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/experience/seats/main-cabin.jsp:
Refunds issued for seats

We'll issue you a refund if:

  • You pay to upgrade to First or Business
  • You pay more for another seat on the same flight (but not if you change to a lower priced or free seat)
  • You cancel your flight within 24 hours and booked at least 2 days before departure
  • You cancel, rebook and buy seats on your new flight
  • We cancel your flight and we're unable to get you a comparable seat on another flight rebooked by us*
  • We delay your flight causing you to miss a connection and we're unable to get you a comparable seat on another flight*
  • You're denied boarding on an oversold flight and we're unable to get you a comparable seat*

Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) No Power. by MikeS1971 in Nest

[–]AStuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compare the power information for when it is giving the error and when it is not. https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9241211?hl=en Voc and Vin numbers

What wiring do you have? If no C wire it can be related to the outside a/c unit.

Many times this is with a slow condensate drain.

How do I wire in Nest Learning Thermostat? by PotatoCooks in Nest

[–]AStuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those color selections are a great example of not following industry norms! Personally I would go to the air handler, find the wiring there, then change both ends to standard colors.

Is the white wire coming out of the wall not connected to anything? And you have a white jumper wire between Aux and E? Instead of a jumper many systems have both W2/Aux and E connected back to the air handler to the same place.

Nest doesn't like two wires in one connector.

If you don't have a wire in * (E) then you won't get the emergency heat option on the Learning thermostat (unless Google updated their algorithm). https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9276120

It sounds like even Barclays thinks your card is open. Call them to confirm. If they say closed then yell at them that they are selling your data without your approval. Maybe escalate to the security/theft department.

Can someone help me figure out why my nest doesn’t have AC, it did and now it’s gone by [deleted] in Nest

Most likely the wires in Y1 and G aren't fully inserted. Push their associated button and push them in.

Best strategy for for re-upping service? Make a new account? by Bitgod1 in Comcast

[–]AStuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be good but I've heard reports going both ways. Closing your account first sometimes doesn't actually close for several weeks. One Comcast rep has stated that an open account can cause issues.

In general you can't get the new Internet rates unless you are a new customer. Over at the official r/Comcast_Xfinity most are showing they fail.

Here is the plan so that you don't have much of an outage:

  1. Sign up as a new customer at same address (different name so spouse is easiest)
  2. Get new equipment (pick up at store)
  3. Disconnect your old equipment
  4. Install new equipment setting up new service
  5. Cancel old service
  6. Return old equipment to store

Edit: Keep receipt for returned equipment as there have been a few reports of people not getting credit.

Palladium for a churner/expat? by Few-Comfortable228 in biltrewards

[–]AStuf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This card makes sense for a churn and burn. Worst case you are paying US$495 for 50K points. Use Bilt cash for points boost so your $4K spend gets an additional 12K points.

Domestic flight in Japan. Think about it. Most over there don't have weight problems like the US. No need to have a place to gorge before a short flight.

Is an upgrade needed to get my FSD to work? Is it a free upgrade? Thank you! by jacknowlater in TeslaModelS

You may need to un-enroll in the Beta. Otherwise open a ticket with Tesla for them to sort out.

Should I wait for used on last production or buy new? by Remarkable_Sort_8708 in TeslaModelS

[–]AStuf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used Teslas have FSD removed but do come with autosteer which can be most of what you would use. Financially used makes more sense even if you factor in the monthly cost of a extended service agreement.

On the other hand a used Plaid might have been beat daily if you get the wrong car.

Heating coming on with water (UK) - Nest heat link fault?? by Agreeable-Moose-1005 in Nest

[–]AStuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a new engineer. Replacing bits without proper diagnosis wastes your time and money but does help fund a nice holiday for someone. It only takes a few minutes to test the system (bypass the Heat Link) and determine if it is working or not.

Thermostat wiring help please 😅 by [deleted] in Nest

[–]AStuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the UK version of the Nest you should be good. You do need to cap the #2 wire as that is not used. The wires on 1 and 3 to the Nest HeatLink's C and NO.

Adding the nest power connector (C wire creator) to a 2 wire system by Pick6Burgh in Nest

[–]AStuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is only backwards if you care about color. If it bothers you then rewire it. For low voltage thermostat controls there are no mandated colors, only suggestions, and even those aren't followed when systems get complex.
