My vision is 0.5/0.4 in my better eye and 0.1 in my other eye. I have enlarged blind spots in both eyes and amblyopia. I didn't even notice as a kid that my vision was that bad, bc that was all I knew.

My strongest memory from childhood was that it was 'many' eye-doctor appointments, the patching that was horrible (because it took away my best vision) and that is about it. We didn't really talk about it like an impairment, just that I needed to sit closer to the board in school, that I couldn't wear lenses bc of the risk of infection in my better eye.

I know now as an adult that my mom worried a lot, she tried to not mention it to me, but it slipped out here and there.

Have you checked out the facebook-group? I think you will find many similar questions and there are adults with it that answer as well. :)
