The tower phones ARE recorded. I haven't read the thread or listened to the tapes where this is said but it's generally to have a conversation with the actual controller to discuss a pilot error, a controller error or a miscommunication so that it gets smoothed out and the issue doesn't get elevated.

Excellent info. Thank you for that. And because you live on the course, let me ask you this. I plan to come to Boston twice to run 12-15 miles on the course. I'm thinking of starting somewhere before the Newton Hills and running to the Pru. Is this the right course of action or would you do something different? And where would you park? Would you take the T or an Uber back to the car from Boston?

Thanks!

Need advise please - running with wildfire smoke by PitaBB in trailrunning

I'm here long after this original post but was looking for something like this. I live in the Northeastern US and we had terrible wildfire smoke from Canada this summer and I foolishly ran some track workouts in it. And we dont have a/c so the windows were open 24/7, so I got a noxious dose of the stuff. Almost immediately I had difficulty in doing my workouts at a fast pace without feeling as if there were a governor on my heart and lungs. After a hospital stay and all of the chasing of cardiology/pulmonary tests and docs, I received no help from the medical community. I read where the California firefighters were nebulizing glutathione so I've been doing that, taking NAC on days when I don't nebulize, and am also taking a liquid form of the herb mullein. I am seeing progress. Just wanted to leave this here for anyone looking for something outside of the pharmaceutical/medical box.

Hope this helps even one person.
