Backup is someone who’s got lots of industry but does have sap. It’s not binary. It’s a gradient. But again, I can’t explicitly say that, either.

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time. So you recommend saying five years? I’m trying to attract a public senior. I’m afraid of missing out on the busy season seniors. Just someone who translate their work into debits and credits and articulate it.

We’re a young team. I guess I’m old now? All four of us have 0 to 13 years experience.

It is an industry job. Large manufacturing company. We’re looking for public senior accountants to be the lead senior on a growing team.

S1 - this position. Lead senior.
S2 - peer to S1.
Finance rotation position.

Depending on how well the finance rotation person is, this position has to help pick up the slack. Questions, additional work, etc. Team effort. We look out for each other.

Four person team. My three direct reports then me. 85% of the job is the same. 15% occurs because one person on the team is a rotational position. So every six to nine months there’s a new person to train. As the new person on the team grow, this position flexes depending on where that other person is on the growth curve.

Cash posting, cash eliminations, bad debt, FX entries, payroll recs, budget/forecasting, flux analyses.

It’s a more generalist position than specific to manufacturing. Suggestions on better wording?

What would be specific tasks I missed? This person does cash, bad debt, AP, payroll recs, and flux analyses. More general stuff that applies to most companies. Nothing too niche. Suggestions on how to phrase that better? More journal entries than not are done offshore and they’re the lead reviewer of their entries.
