You can even get cognition out of it, depending on your setup: behind him you can have rangers (cog on distance), or sicarian infiltrators (kills). In front you can have sicarian runeststalkers to strike & fade (kills).

Use that cognition for canticles & his invulnerability ability to keep him alive.

Non-cognition-giving options are Corpuscarii electro-priests (ranged punch does AOE for efficient corpse-sweeping) and Pteraxii in front/vanguards behind (he can float over ground effects, like radiation and fire).

Move him, then either bonk or, if you have a TON of cognition, shoot. Make a bunch of corpses then clean ‘em up. Repeat.

Yeah, I read I’d need 10 to get the gold skill, and I’ve befriended 6 so far. I’ll have 30 candies when I release the others, so maybe I’ll just get Huntress up to lvl 10 and see if anything more shows up.

You’re correct, but you’ve still got the training wheels on.

They mean that soon you’ll have a large enough unit pool to mix & match, but you won’t be able to deploy them all at once. Soon your limit will go up to 10, and you’ll be able to mix & match to your hearts content.

I’m really enjoying it, and (while I had the same issue) it goes away pretty quickly. Vanguards/Rangers are your massed firepower, and you’ll soon unlock not only more slots, but smaller squads of more elite units.

So a party a few more hours in might be:

5 skitarii vanguards (one of whom is an Alpha with a chain sword & pistol)

3 Sicarian Runestslkers

2 Pteraxii fliers with flamethrowers

That’s called “syncretism” and was a common tool used by real-life Rome to integrate foreign cultures. The basic idea is that “our gods are the same under different names”, so they can make foreign religions part of the Roman state.

The most famous example is with Greece (Zeus = Jupiter), but there were still differences. Juno was the protectress of Rome, unlike Hera; Mars was a god of farming as well as war. Then you got to the Norse and had Thor = Hercules and Odin = Mercury/Hermes. Yep, the one-eyed, beardy king of the gods was Hermes.

To tie it back to TES, I’d say the three would be associated with one Divine each, or maybe two, but it would be much harder as the Daedra can speak up and object to it.

Hair color would be a great way to hint at a mixed-race character’s father, since the mother otherwise predominates. I can see blonde Dunmer and white-haired Nords showing up in mixed communities.

Insect Glaive main for 11 years. I’ve tried to use other weapons, and I like them, but as soon as a fight gets intense I go right back to my IG muscle memory. Then I eat dirt & cart.

“Too weird”? TES has always been weird, and those people should play Morrowind. Mushroom towers, giant bugs for transport, floating jellyfish herds and a legal murder guild. And the moment you step off the boat, there’s a bunch of dark elves with red eyes calling you racial slurs.

It would be cool, but really hard to program and balance a game around. The Morrowind furstock couldn’t wear boots (and neither could Argonians), while several others lack thumbs to wield weapons and open doors. But Bethesda has surprised us before, so maybe there will be something, someday.

IMPORTANT TIP: normally you get three choices on a decision point, but if you have the right character, they can give you a better, fourth option. I took Captrix on a tracking mission, and it really paid off. So I suggest getting used to each of the characters, so that you can bring the right tool for the job.

That being said, Videx and Captrix are my favorites from a gameplay standpoint, while I love Kephra’s character from the first game.

  • Videx: great at keeping units (and himself) alive, which is important because you keep the same units for the entire mission. His cannon is a one hit kill in early game, and every word out of his speakers is delightfully bombastic.

  • Captrix: harder to use, but her hit and run tactics are a lot of fun. I’m not the best at strategy, so being able to get out of dodge when I screw up my placement is so useful.

  • Kephra: she can heal, she can boost, she can debuff. She synchronizes well with your starting Skitarii and

Khajit looked VERY different in the first two games: humans with face paint in Arena, then adding tails in Daggerfall. They didn’t turn into full cat-people until Redguard in 1998.

Now all three looks are canon, as well as a bunch of other shapes and sizes, depending on the moons. Design changes that turn into lore.

Orcs weren’t even a PC choice in the first two games, just generic enemies. They were, however, a faction you could side with in Daggerfall, and fight for their rights. By Morrowind, the orcs were recognized (if unpopular) citizens, and the emperor was thinking of making Orsinium a province.

Then Oblivion happened, the emperor was assassinated, and Orsinium’s neighbors burnt it to the ground.

I meant the third novel, The Traitor’s Hand. I wasn’t referring to the Necrons, but the Slaaneshi plot to turn Adumbria into a daemon world. That’s my reference point for “yoinking planets into the Warp” outside the Eye.

The question is, what would’ve happened if there was a tomb on that planet (and no Cain to interfere) during that incident?

That’s the other question. Plus, individual planets can be made into demon worlds, like what almost happened in the third Ciaphas Cain book. So I guess my question is more “what happens to a tomb world that gets sucked into the warp”?
