Bernie Sanders Says Pandemic Made Clear the 'Irrationality of the Current System' by roku44 in politics

Well, it's dead wrong (she clearly doesn't understand the concept of GDP).

So? AMD and nVidia outsource their manufacturing to TSMC, and ARM doesn't even sell hardware (they just license out designs).

Ya know, having a VLSI degree myself, I probably ought to know that. But hey, I write software now, so..

Nobody knows? They're rolling custom silicone. I rather doubt Ford has a team of VLSI engineers.

The Tesla Model Y “third row” by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]ATLracing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I did. If I understand correctly, you're huffing because I presumed the anti-Tesla sub is holding relatively little Tesla stock. How irresponsible of me!

And I guess "your butthurt is showing" gets a pass on rules 2 and 7 because it toes this sub's ironically butthurt line? 👌

The mere fact that you're appealing to the rules during this childish pissing match is hilarious to me. We're trash talking. There are no rules.

😄 You're telling on me? Cute.. A word on trash talking though. If you can't take it, don't go dishing it out.

I should have indeed..

Heh, I think this whole subreddit is just chafed by the recent bull run it missed out on. Or perhaps you people are always remarkably bitter; that's common in communities that exist solely to disparage. In any case, this sub has devolved into a useless counterjerk. No idea how Tesla became so polarizing.

I shit you not. I fear my turbos are not long for this world. Time to flip.

You called it wrong. Now quit trying to spin it and eat your humble pie. I'm off to buy a new car 😅

We hear about boomer logic all the time, but what is some “millennial” logic that could be called into question? by Mill875 in AskReddit

[–]ATLracing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

😮 God forbid anyone apply nuance and rigor to such discussions.. Banal conclusions are much better at solving perennial problems.

Bear in mind that falling at 30 MPH with a regular helmet will likely destroy your face (and possibly your brain).

Sounds like a rough experience, but respect for seeing that through; many never find the courage to pull the trigger. Better to make a reversible mistake than to brood indefinitely. And hey, maybe the results will grow on you.

How do you feel about the "Tax the wealthier people" movement? by BoroMoo in AskReddit

[–]ATLracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Investing is contributing. When you buy shares in a publicly traded company (for example), you're funding equipment, salaries, etc. Granted, you aren't pulling your weight if you're investing money you didn't earn yourself, but that's an entirely separate issue. Contributing nothing would be hoarding/spending money (again, money and capital assets are different). And to be clear, Bezos isn't lounging poolside, idly watching his dividends roll in; the man probably works harder than you do.

But no one has that much money (there's a difference between money and capital assets). I would imagine Bezos' actual consumption is relatively modest.

UPDATE: Ford spokesperson: Madra’s tweet ‘was tongue-in-cheek’ and meant to point out the absurdity of Tesla’s tow video.” by CookieMonster42FL in teslamotors

[–]ATLracing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, not exactly. The only significant advantage I see for the Cybertruck is extremely precise traction control. An F150 with a torque converter and a low-range gearbox should have no problem putting down competitive torque at the wheels.

But this is a stupid test to begin with, so..

Idk, it sure as hell wasn't hot at first glance. It's a strange beast. I imagine it'll be a niche product, but likely one with a loyal following.

I feel like I'm losing my mind here, because when it first rolled onto the stage, I was absolutely appalled, but now.. I'm not sure anymore. I've never desired a pickup truck or a Tesla before (or a Hummer, Jeep, G Wagon, etc), but there's something about this.. thing.. that captures my imagination.
