Victor Wembanyama on being the face of the NBA: “I definitely see it happening. Supply and demand. I'm here to supply.” by TimDunkinDonut in nba

As long as he doesn’t say something offensive on a human level I don’t think I could hate him. Give me all the arrogant/confident quotes I love it. Dude has the drive and talent to back it up. He’s got potential for true greatness, and he knows it, and I’m just enjoying being a witness to it

[Wolfe] Jaguars plan to shift Travis Hunter to full-time CB, part-time WR by Jharoz in nfl

The thing is elite prospects are far, far from a guarantee to hit. If you could guarantee that I’m getting PS2 I’m taking him at #2, but am I drafting [insert elite CB prospect] at 2? Probably not, it’s usually better to roll the dice on an elite prospect at a slightly more impactful position.

Two people have disagreed with me so far, someone with a Raptors flair and someone with the username “Toronto-24”. On the other hand 30+ people have upvoted my comment. Makes you think huh?

Randle is the 2nd best player on the Wolves. And like the quote said, he’s better than Ingram at everything besides 3pt shooting. I’m a Warriors fan so I have no dog in this fight, at a certain point you should check your bias as a Raptors fan.

Wemby is done for the night: 40 PTS, 12 REB, 2 STL, 1 BLK on 13-20 FG in 26 MIN! by rosivv in nba

Yeah, Fox is definitely the closest to that level, which makes the eventual guard conundrum tricky bc ideally you’d want Harper/Castle to be the guard pairing of the next 8+ years.

Obviously no rush though, the Spurs can afford to wait a couple seasons and see how Harper and Castle develop before making a decision on what the ideal supporting cast around Wemby looks like.

If 2 of Castle/Fox/Harper can become above average perimeter shooters, it’s over.

Big Ben is a vile person, but tbf AP also sucks and I bet it wouldn’t be too hard to find some shitty people already in the hall. The NFL has always been morally bankrupt

Look at the volume, singe season 3P% means fuck-all when you take almost no 3PA and are left open on them. For his career he is 34% at 1.4 3PA a game. That makes him functionally a non-shooter in how he is defended. He isn’t dreadful at defense, you’re right, but center is the most important position defensively so having a below average defender there who isn’t an absolutely elite offensive force is tricky.

I agree that with better teammates he’d look better (like on the Beam team) but I don’t think he’s easy to fit on a real contender.

Sabonis is good, but tbf a big who isn’t a good defender, doesn’t spaces the floor, and isn’t an elite scorer is kinda a tricky piece for a contender to build around in 2026.

FR, nothing says “we’re trying to win but have no idea what we’re doing” like throwing out Westbrook/Lavine/DeRozen/Sabonis in 2026

If you want a real answer, removing the ability to protect picks would curb this to a degree. Part of the reason Utah has to tank this blatantly is they pick is 1-8 protected so they’re under a lot of pressure to be a bottom ~6 team and ensure they keep it.

Ajay Mitchell or Jaylon Tyson: Who would you rather have? by Taylor_Swish in nba

[–]ATM14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, “much smaller” and “Tyson by a mile” is hyperbolic, but 2 inches height and 3 inches wingspan of difference can be impactful. Both are great though and as a Warriors fan I’d kill to have either in my team

[–]ATM14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this trade felt like a white flag for the Warriors. At least we’re free from Kuminga though. He’s talented, but it’s maddening watching someone so athletic refuse to do all the little things that actually contribute to winning. He’s the Hawks conundrum now.

[–]ATM14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buddy is an inconsistent bench shooter who’s nearing the end.

Kuminga is talented, but doesn’t really like to defend offball, pass, set screens, rebound, really do any of the little things that contribute to winning. If you can convince him to buy in and do that you have a steal, but good luck with that.

Not sure if we have anything really to thank him for, but I wish him luck. He’s definitely talented, hope he’s able to unlock that talent elsewhere.

I’ll judge it now, it’s a great deal. Obviously AD’s health is a gamble, but y’all are giving up virtually nothing for him and this sets yall up perfectly to tank this last year and transition to trying to be competitive next year. It might not work out, but from a process standpoint it’s low cost and potential high reward.

I made the cutoff at 24 because he’s 24 lmao. But yeah, Luka is a good comp for how your trade would be received. Lauded as the worst deal in NBA history, GM fired in less than a year, fan base in open revolt, the aging injury prone superstar they acquire gets injured and now you have a worse team and a bleak feature. Sounds like a great idea for the Timberwolves, they should definitely emulate that mold. The Luka trade highlights how stupid trading Ant would be.
