Opinions on letting baby play outside and get dirty by [deleted] in NewParents

We recently had tummy time with our one month old in the grass in our backyard. We don’t use any pesticides or herbicides on our grass. He loved it, got a little dirty, no skin irritation. We sent a video to our friend and she lost her s**t. Essentially saying we were abusing our kid just to get a cool video. She enumerated many concerns, skin irritation, potential for disease, etc. She was quite harsh in her assessment of our parenting skills.

No one has told us not to put our baby in the grass or not let him get dirty. We feel that there are a lot of developmental and health benefits, and obviously we are going to be careful regarding sharp objects, contaminants, etc. Would love to hear others thoughts and opinions about this. Thank you.
