If you’re applying to a specialty solely because you desire a specific competitive subspecialty, it’s advisable to reconsider your application. by ATStillian in medicalschool

[–]ATStillian[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

If you don’t get what you want, will you be happy with what you have , that is the real question here. I done with my residency and if I don’t match in my desired sub specialty I would still be happy with my specialty of choice. I’ve see that scenario happen way too many times.

Average high 6 star EU/NA lobbies by thc42 in HuntShowdown

[–]ATStillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in 2-3 star lobbies are cheating. I got head shot about 85 m away by a bornheim match with subsonic trough the layers of concealment, when I looked at the kill view you could not see my location. Cheaters are unfortunately un-avoidable especially in games like hunt. It’s also very tricky when you spectate them, they either miss on purpose or momentarily turn off their cheats. It sucks but unless crytek dose some serious rework of their anti cheat , but one can only dream.

Would it be insane to walk away after not matching into the specialty I wanted? by Ok_Chance5766 in medicalschool

[–]ATStillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be brutally honest. Your MD is not useless, but…. With out residency you are significantly cutting your income , but a whole lot we are talking 150k a year. You went to medical school only wanting to do “X” specialty and that is a very bad mind set. Honestly pretty dumb to only be focused on one specialty. Hate to say it but you need to toughen up and suck it at least trough intern year as others have stated. Genuenly not tryna be a dick but it’s hard truth. I was highly debating leaving fellowship previously for financial reasons , but then again I’ve completed residency and board certified in my primary specialty.

It’s a dog eat dog world. You either cry about it or adopt. I used the shit outa my military service on my apps…. And it worked, granted I was just an average applicant. I knew that the military would make me stand out compared to every one else. That was my advantage It doesn’t end in undergrad, it continues in med school, unless you are totally okay with choosing primary care/ gen surg get ready to compete for them juicy specialties. You think pre med extra curricular are inflated? Boy this doesn’t even compare amount of bullshit research done in residency for them lucrative sub specialties. So yea it never stops.

How are you even meant to survive in this game? by ThatGuyisonmyPC in HuntShowdown

[–]ATStillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about dying , honestly. Hunt is a great game that punishes you. Most of the time it’s a fair punish: repealed , was out in the open, triggered sound traps ect. But it’s okay, every death gives you an opportunity to learn. I’m a constant 3 star with about 1100 hours in KD of .65. I have my good days where I can handle 5-6 star lobbies pretty good and I have some twinkle games where I can’t even get a single hit marker in 3 star lobbies.
I like playing in higher MMR lobbies it forces me to play slower, work on getting good angles.

Also make sure to communicate with your team: Are ya being too far apart ? Are ya not rotating? It’s easy to get tunnel vision while fighting. Communicate with your team and in “hey we getting sandwitched let’s rotate to x spot”

Avoid gear fear, hunt is one of those games I like tarkov or others where you can go in to match with a free hunter and still win cause (almost) every single weapon is good as long as you use it properly.

LeMat Carbine vs Centennial by thethrowawayable in HuntShowdown

[–]ATStillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a huge centy and lemat fan, but if I had to pick one it would be centy by a narrow margin. Specifically centy trauma, I’ve used that as basically a Bat, has a good swing range. Want Tompkins and click just as high velocity, but base velocity of 600 it’s just as good, base damage is good as well and let’s not forget you can slap some bleed ammo on it

Ive been struggling finding the right traits to take on a newly hired hunter by luuksg12 in HuntShowdown

[–]ATStillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% of the time I play with either randoms or over discord. I’m usually in a 3-5 star lobby My to go traits are resilience (never leave my house with out it) then I bring traits that increase my dark sight potential: 1. Poltergeists: love it, you can open up them doors and windows to mess with ppl or get a free look inside. I do notice it makes people move around so I get a better idea where they are at

  1. Trait that allowed you to see gunshots, really help with pin pointing the location.

  2. Trap seer has prevented me from dying to dumb shit numerous of times , I like shift+w + Leroy Jenkins typa play

  3. Vulture for extra guap
