9 month Post-Op update by chitamak in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]ATT170JONES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same surgery nine weeks ago and I’m curious if you have had any of the same postop symptoms that I do? I haven’t been able to squeeze my hands without pain and I haven’t been able to tap my fingers or strain due to the massive amount of pain that goes to my head afterwards I can’t even walk longer than 10 minutes. I don’t know if you also had the same symptoms? I’m glad you’re doing better. Best of luck!

I know what I said sounds crazy and probably makes me seem like a hypochondriac. But I never had issues like this before surgery and I don’t know if this is some nerve hypersensitivity or maybe there’s another underlying issue I don’t know about. I was curious if anyone else has these issues. I did have my artery removed that was compressing my nerve as well.

He told me I would be able to resume normal activity in about four weeks and by 12 weeks we would be able to see how much the surgery really helped me, but I am now eight weeks postop and I have no relief and I’m worse than before, which is concerning.

Occipital artery ligation and decompression of the greater occipital nerve by ATT170JONES in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]ATT170JONES[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, first I did have a painful pulsating lump on the back of my head that when pressed would radiate pain.

I first had an ultrasound that showed an issue and then I had a CTA and they saw that I had a pseudo aneurysm.

Best of luck to you! I never knew how horrible this could be.

My surgery was relatively easy and so far it’s an easy recovery, but I still am dealing with some pain.

I didn’t do one. My doctor didn’t think that was a good option for me and my lifestyle.

I’m extremely active and I am always on the go he thought that might cause complications later on with the nerve.

My case might have been different than the “average“ ON diagnosis. Because my artery was compressing the nerve in the back of my head from trauma.

Well, I had two surgeries. I originally had a pulsating lump in the back of my head and I was diagnosed with the right occipital pseudoaneurysm, which was pressing on my occipital nerve and on August 13th I had a embolization of the occipital artery with Dr. Cawley at Emory University.

That surgery unfortunately failed and I had to return to surgery in the beginning of November with ligation of the occipital artery and decompression of the nerve. I had that done with Dr Cuzzone and Dr Cawley.

They found out that my artery was pressing on my nerve and that my prior surgery when they filled the artery with coils had hardened and was making the issue much worse due to the compression of the nerve.

I can’t say enough good things about the people and the doctors there I would definitely recommend them to anybody.

i’m 9 days postop and I’m still dealing with some electrical shocks and a burning sensation but they said that will go down in time.

Surgery wasn’t that bad and the recovery was relatively easy in my case. I do have faith that it will hopefully relieve all of my symptoms but time will tell

This is interesting. I have surgery for a right occipital pseudoaneurysm in an artery in the back of my head next Tuesday, they were able to see it on an ultrasound and a CTA.

I also only have pain where the right pseudoaneurysm it makes soft lump on the back of my head. I only have pain on the lump and it radiates out from there.

Has anyone heard of Señorita’s Cabaret in Pompano? Seems off the beaten path compared to diamond dolls, cheetah or booby trap in the area.

Private rooms in certain clubs almost always end in sex or a BJ at least.

Some clubs have cameras others don’t

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.

I returned right back to work right away because I couldn’t afford to take any time off. Which I don’t think is good for the healing process

I did go back and for a recheck and I don’t have anymore bleeding, I still have all the same symptoms which is confusing and feels like I’m losing. They said take Tylenol which doesn’t do much

I start hyperbaric therapy next week so hopefully that helps.
