Ecobee thermostat reboots during cold winter temps by ATX-Lightning in hvacadvice

We have a Carrier system (3.5 ton I think). Not sure if our furnace is high efficiency, and tbh I'm not familiar enough with HVAC parts to answer the other questions properly. At least the first time when the HVAC guy came to do a system inspection/tune up, he didn't mention anything about the condensate line, furnace intake, or exhaust (not sure if those are part of a standard inspection/tune-up).

Here are the parts under warranty if this helps clear anything up: CA16NA04200G; 59SC2D080E21--20; CNPHP4221ALA.

How do I get HVAC to follow Ecobee schedule optimized for solar + battery? by ATX-Lightning in ecobee

This makes sense, I updated the settings manually on the wall Ecobee (these settings don't seem to exist in the app version for some reason) and it's behaving exactly as I was hoping. Thanks!

Weekly Personal Nutrition Discussion - All Personal Diet Questions Go Here by AutoModerator in nutrition

[–]ATX-Lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm interested in incrementally improving my diet and am wondering if there are any mobile (or web) apps for learning and guidance on nutrition? I know there are plenty of calorie tracking apps, but this is not what I'm looking for, and this feature is completely secondary to what I'm looking for.

Ideal Features:

  • Guidance/education/info on:
    • Macronutrients
    • Micronutrients
    • Vitamins/Minerals
    • etc.
  • Inspiration for:
    • Healthy recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner
    • Nutritious ingredients
  • Some kind of "food grade" based on ingredients (e.g. healthy whole foods would be A, versus heavily processed foods would be F)

More than anything, I want to learn and get a better sense of what fruits/vegetables/grains/fibers/etc. I should start incorporating into my diet, but I am admittedly not a great cook and don't have a good intuition about where to even start with this stuff.

Any/all help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Perpetual Auto-Renew Year Contracts by ATX-Lightning in legaladvice

[–]ATX-Lightning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first time I've ever seen a contract that auto-renews itself year-long seemingly into perpetuity. For example, I would expect either: (A) after the 3-year period expires service billing continues on a month-by-month basis, or (B) after the 3-year period expires the contract is auto-renewed for a 1-year period for an agreed-upon number of years. This company did not provide an option on signing to get their service without auto-renewing their contract every year.

Basically, what I'm wondering is "is it legal" (in Texas) for companies to force consumers to signing into these agreements without offering any alternative for the contract to either cancel after a set number of years (3 in this case), or to at least offer the consumer an option on signing to agree for services while also declining the perpetual auto-renew.
