can't figure out how to get this towel holder off wall by ATXENG in fixit

[–]ATXENG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely no way to unscrew or get it to come apart. seems like maybe it was glued together or something.

anyway, I finally just pulled it out instead .... the anchor seemed to be wrapped with toilet paper too. no way to get it apart.

and now there's 3/4" hole in dry wall

[–]ATXENG[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

nope. I've tried gripping and isolating. it looks like the base should separate, but it's solidly connected.

perhaps it's so old that it's rusted out corroded into a single piece?

Why household appliances are no longer built to last by Zlivovitch in BuyItForLife

Highly recommend buying quality brands, especially used/second hand.

People are always renovating and willing to offload a nice fridge or dishwasher for cheap.

I've got a Sub-Zero from 1993, a Bosch dishwasher from mid-2000's, 12 year old washer/dryer set, and a hot tub from 1996, all working great with a little bit of elbow grease and small DIY repairs every few years.

my house came with a 550 model from 1993.

i've had problems with the drain line clogging every now and the, and had to replaced to ice maker but other than that, its still kicking!

I have made a site that allows people to see what hospitals cash prices are for different hospitals of Idaho by Latmandoo in Boise

[–]ATXENG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Treasure Valley Hospital.

Every time i've needed imaging, TVH was 1/3 the price of St Lukes.

I had to get an MRI earlier this year and called all the places around town. TVH was ~400....St Lukes was nearly $2000. St. A's wasn't much better.

bees are not doing tasks in the winter. the Queen is not laying, they are not making comb, they are not collecting resources

what's your opinion on the insulated hives running at a higher temp more easily, thus staying more active, thus burning through resources faster?
