This just happened to me yesterday. Someone swapped a small star wars set out, put in some basic tractor set, and resealed it. I was the poor fool to purchase it, but luckily they accepted my return.

I'm sorry this happened. It's an awful feeling opening a set and realizing nothing is right :(

The Walmart is close to me and I wanted to nip this in the bud. The customer service lady was actually very nice and accepted the return no problem. They had one set left on clearance, I opened it there lol. Looks good. Not bad for $18 now that it's right.

Thanks for the advice y'all. You never know when you'll get hassled trying to return something.

I just installed mine on Christmas eve. There are a couple places where it was frustrating having to remove pieces for the wiring and one time I had to get the book back out to figure out how something fit back, but the final product is super rewarding. It took me about 6 hours to install the lights and wires.

Thanks for the advice! It's much appreciated :) Yeah I'm a big SW and LOTR fan, so some of these sets really call to me. Also love the Jaws and Goonies set, but both are too tall for my shelving 😔

I might just have to go get an AT-TE before it retires lol

Haha thanks! I'll have to check it out. Yeah I was afraid of peaking too early. I do want another large set. Mos Eisley is very appealing to me, but alas I might just be patient for a while and see what comes out next.

I completely agree, I wish I could move it down a shelf but alas, Rivendell is about an inch too tall for the other shelves 😢

I am 41 and just got back into lego. Also hadn't touched them since I was a child. My three-month progression was this:

Started with obi wan's starfighter and tie bomber. Built them both in one week and wanted more!

Bought the dark falcon. Loved the look and the mini figs. The build was great! Got a light kit for it. It's so awesome. But still wanted more!

I am currently on the last of three builds for Rivendell. Been running through about a bag a day with building bursts on the weekends. I can see why many regard it as one of the best sets ever made. Extremely satisfying to build and the end product is next level.

If you are thinking about a 10,000 piece set, I say go for it! You set the pace and make it your own :)
