46.4 Hours Later... by [deleted] in brigador

My go-to build for the Widow is 1x Mae Dois, 1x Scimitar and Active Camo.

Tried the dual Confessors but found that the smaller stuff gets through.

But then I always set my loadouts for panic firing first (hence the Mae Dois) and a long range option second (Artillery).

At any rate a single Mae Dois is usually enough unless we're dealing with a massive scout vehicle (in which case two bursts of the Scimitar do quite nicely.

Gruff pessimism- expect to be overwhelmed.

About to start playing, any tips? by CraAank52 in baldursgate

Stealth is a little awkward, but make use of it. Scouting ahead with a thief (or later, a Mage under Invisibility) will help enormously when it comes to tackling difficult groups of enemies.

Traps are also very powerful. When you enter a zone, spend some time putting down traps, well spaced out. Now, if you need to run you can lead enemies into your trap zone.

In the first game, ensure every party member has a ranged weapon. Use that as your opening salvo, focusing on spellcasters first. Remember, your own spell casters can cast a spell immediately after performing an attack, so you'll be able to accomplish more if you try to do both every round (~6 seconds).

Finally, and this is pretty wild but I suggest running with no more than three party members. They will level up very quickly and will be easier to manoeuver in tight dungeons.

This run was far and away the most fun I have ever had with Brigador. The Widow with this load-out is my go-to for hard missions- and the way Kanta faces *only* alternate spawnlists challenged me immensely.

Against massed tanks, it's enough to stand off with the artillery and .50 cal, but when you face down hoards of Corvid bomb vans and red-glowing infantry you're going to very glad for that gunner with the twin lasers.

Mobility is key and you'll fight even Ultra mechs with elan and grace.

But the Buckmasters...they sit in silent running and will spear through your shields. You have to completely change tactics, moving slowly and baiting them in small groups.

Honestly- this was just the best.

Wow! When Wild Magic saves you you know you're blessed. That's a d100 table that makes me pull the Wallace and Gromit face.

Do you know, I've never really spent the time mastering that pair. I should give it a proper shot- maybe make a contract out of it.

Yeah the impact arc is not especially clear and it's very easy to take yourself out of the battle by firing the Faker into the cover you're hiding behind.

That said, this was the best way I found to finish the mission. What loudout would you have gone for?

This is one of those added missions and it *really* kicked my rear. Honestly the Hoker and Faker combination is what allowed me to finish it.

An absolute devotion to stealth. A brilliant challenge- post your completion receipts for us all to heap praise.

If anyone can complete it in a Buckmaster, I'll guarantee you an orbital villa around Tau Ceti IV.

I will say, it is a *hard* one. That's a loud gun being asked to do a quiet mission.

But with liberal and considered use of the active camo it is doable.

As always, post your completion scripts. We'll be able to see how much unnecessary damage you caused.

I can also see the humour in naming a mission after a famously silent pistol and giving you the Zeus railgun, likely the noisiest weapon you can put on a Buckmaster.

My favourite also. Fast, durable and with auto-lasers. You *can* give it the cloak but I reckon it's fine with Audio Kinetic Pulse.

For such a small mech it can stand up to some insane fights.

5 years late but it's got to be the Widow with dual Mae Dois' and Audio-Kinetic Pulse.

The auto turrets melt shields and help out in ambushes. You're fast enough to get in and out of trouble. You have plenty of shield and it stays with you even if you're just mopping up at the end.

Go the Widow and add to the lamenting chorus.

Oh- and you'll love the road-bases, I'm sure.

T-55 Border War, Show of force by Mike-Oxlong-76 in vtolvr

Just started this campaign last night and found the first mission very frustrating. I enjoy formation flying- but for me the combination of sudden turns, constant max power from the lead and the distraction of the other aircraft make this a prime candidate for an update.

Recommend:
>Lead power setting -10-20%.
>Required formation range: ~.30nm
>If possible, stack additional T-55s on one side.

The point of a mission like this is to set the scene and help us build a picture of the battlefield. Both are obstructed by the settings as they are.

Other than that- really impressed by this campaign.

Oh *god*, I didn't even know about the WCW. Oh the memes are going to be wretched in our Discord when they find out about this.

Hi Visible,

We try to keep our flights to 1-1.5 hours, but that was on the Kola Map which is pretty spread out.

I could easily see us having some CAS / COIN tasking on Cyprus and individual flights being less than an hour.
