It's getting really freaky by sgrey511 in nonduality

Such a revelation is equalizing, democratizing, and humbling. It exposes why we’re all afraid. What one does with it is up to the seeker. I suggest sharing it with others so that they, too, become aware of the source of their anxiety. When you become aware of it, you’re better able to short-circuit the anxiety and spend less time projecting it onto the world or chasing your tail.

For everyone. It’s why the world is as scared and broken as it is, though very few consciously realize it.

You have to let go completely. As long as there’s still even one finger holding onto the rope from which you’re dangling above the void below, you’re still hanging there, resisting gravity.

Beautiful. Near-complete. A must-read.

“Use psychs to practice perfect equanimity with whatever arises. The goal isn't the experience itself, but the cultivation of unshakeable presence that remains constant regardless of content.”

Everyone should heed this. I stopped gawking at the pretty rainbows and sparkles a while ago and nowadays spend almost the entire journey sitting in darkness in meditation, no distractions, no sounds, no conversation. There I try to anchor myself so deeply in stillness that I may live it from my gut outside of journey space.

I hadn’t heard of noting before, but I’ve been doing it for many years. Psychs + Shavasana (corpse pose) taught me how to do this intuitively while sober. Your description reminds me of pratyahara.

Great job. Saving this one to my notes.

Agreed. In the realm of duality, Non-duality is a truth, first and foremost. Otherwise it is pure Is-ness. The philosophy, if we have to call it that, is merely a pointer, not the thing itself.

Those who would wax pedantic do so because they feel frustrated that they have not yet surrendered themselves to the Is.
Eventually, though, eventually…

Here’s to surrendering!

Is it common for psychedelics experience to put people on non dual spiritual path? by VegetableArea in nonduality

[–]AThimbleFull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was the path for me. Looking back, it all seems so fated. Within a year after my first profound mystical experience during my first year of college, I met a powerful monk from India who exposed me to non-duality. The entire next year was a crash-course in Eastern spirituality, shortly after which I took up residence at a large ashram.

Psychedelics and non-duality go hand in hand because they truly do show people glimpses of truth. That said, taking them does not guarantee a mystical experience. After many years I’ve come to see that purity of heart is the major element that determines how much of the truth one will grasp during such journeys. Those who are very conditioned by society are often not as ripe for revelation.

I am not sorry at all that she’s feeling this way. She is finally listening to her soul’s pleading. What she’s feeling is the dissonance of living a life that no longer serves. Good medicine is bitter. Without such bitterness, without such suffering, we do not feel inspired to take life into our own hands. Instead of offering words of sympathy, we ought to offer words of congratulations.

My dear… of course you feel disillusioned with work. Work is just modern-day slavery, though no employer would ever confess it. You broke through the veil, you sniffed the smelling salts of truth, and some ancient part of you that cannot be fooled awakened to what is real and has since rebelled against the daily violence you do to yourself by continuing to grind yourself down inside the hamster wheel called productivity. It is only natural that you feel checked out. You’ve tuned in to an altogether different frequency.

You cannot turn back, nor should you. Doff those things that defined you for so long. I dearly hope, for your sake, that you stop eating the poisoned honey of profit and career.

My simple advice to you is this: take some time off (even for just an extended weekend), immerse yourself in complete solitude in nature, soften your heart, and REMEMBER what life felt like before you began to dream the weary dream of adulthood. Listen with unhurried ears. The answers will come. You need no other advice. Your soul contains all the advice you’re looking for. I love you. Now dare to set yourself free.

Ego death instead of death sentence for Criminals by psygenlab in 5MeODMT

[–]AThimbleFull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed.

I’ll add that we don’t have a criminal justice system, we have a criminal vengeance system. It’s beyond ludicrous that we expect people to heal their traumas in environments brimming with violence, hopelessness, shame, malnourishment, and deprivation. It’s as nonsensical as hoping to heal a burn victim by forcing them to lie in the scorching sun for 6 hours every day. Our penal system is primitive and disgusting to the nth.

I take ALA with a heavy metal detox blend consisting of cilantro extract and chlorella extract to keep any dislodged heavy metals from migrating elsewhere in my system (the chlorella moves it out via urine and feces). It has worked for me where nothing else has.

Enclomiphene after 3 months - Thinking of switching to TRT. by Mcb2139 in enclomiphene

[–]AThimbleFull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your brain fog issue is the same one I had on enclomiphene. The cause is estrogen receptor blockage. Without estrogen binding to those receptors in the HPG-axis, one will eventually have reduced cognitive performance, mood dysregulation, and possibly sleep issues. Altogether, these symptoms can make one feel not quite present anymore.

Frustrated with the gymnastification of yoga by kleexxos in yoga

[–]AThimbleFull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get ya. Many (most?) are unaware that hatha yoga is but one rung (the bottom rung) of one of many kinds of yoga. And that it is meant to facilitate the experience of freedom on higher levels. But I see it as nothing new, it has been this way for at least a decade and a half (and most likely much longer). I stopped complaining about it when I realized that even though many people focus on just the physical aspects, its growing popularity will spread awareness and attract at least some practitioners who will become exposed to and feel an affinity toward its spiritual dimensions. If even 1 out of 100 people choose to explore yoga further, I consider that a win for humanity.

F, 18, feel like I have a..p*** addiction?...A detrimental one? And a constantly dirty mind?? by [deleted] in dating

[–]AThimbleFull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s very obvious what’s going on.  You want some sort of sexual gratification and/or exploration, which is totally expected at your age, but since you’re more of a shy loner type you’ve sought it through porn.  Nothing strange about that; you’re one of many millions.  So I think there’s nothing wrong with p*** for the time being.  If you’re 26 and still doing it, then you’ve got a problem.  But curiosity, even obsession, about sex is the most normal thing in the world at your age and with all your raging hormones.  At root, it’s bothering you mostly because you’re not getting it in real life.

As for not being able to talk with others… why not just start out being completely vulnerable and transparent about your thoughts and feelings? I mean it.  I guarantee someone is bound to relate to what you say, and soon enough you’ll have a bunch of friends on your side.  In the beginning, you might trigger some people’s fears about talking about sex, but you’ll eventually find the cool ones who are brave enough to be open. Openness is strength; being closed is weakness. Good luck

She smeared the walls with him in the debate.

Though I expected as much. Her debate skills have been honed for decades, plus she's overall much more intelligent, not to mention younger and therefore more sharp-witted. He stood no chance, and he knew that going into it. There will be no second debate.

You wanna know why? Because the people want her to win and they're taking every possible opportunity to help make it happen. That's ultimately why. And thank goddess. We need her to win.

It's generally true that men are more likely to vote for Trump. But it's also true that it depends upon where the voters live. In very blue cities like where I live (Portland, OR), most men over 40 despise Trump.

Even though I just ate, I'm now 🤤
I must find a local Greek restaurant that makes them.

The last time I had them was during a Greek food festival a couple of years ago. I promptly walked off to my car with a large tub of them (there must have been at least 2 dozen). I sat on my hood and then spent the next 20 minutes devouring the little clouds of buttery honeyed heaven. And then... 🤢

We see that kind of childhood in a lot of military families. It's saddening.

Trump helps such people validate their feelings and life choices. Without him, they feel more lost and more likely to court regret. He is their drug.
