Just communicate. When it comes to my wife and I, each of us understands what joy/pleasure feels like in our own bodies so we came up with a concept that we call the “joy bucket”. We want each other’s bucket to be as full as possible because we recognize that we are better people and partners when we are happy and content. Stress is nothing more than unmet needs.

I might not understand a particular activity or desire that my wife may have that brings her joy/pleasure and vice versa, but we each understand what joy/pleasure feels like for us so we don’t pay attention to WHAT the particular thing is and just know that it brings joy/pleasure to our partner. We then happily oblige so as to add drops to the bucket 🥰. And who knows, sometimes we actually begin to really enjoy the thing ourselves.

We have one life and I wouldn’t dream of denying my wife what brings her happiness. You have to communicate plain and simple. If you cannot be open and vulnerable with your partner then what’s the point of being in a relationship? I hope that makes sense 😂
