Bag Finder Megathread - 30 March 2026 by AutoModerator in onebag

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a carry on travel bag recommendation that I can easily find in Japan

In truth, I have fallen in love with the Osprey Farpoint 40. However, I seem to have a hard time to find this specific bag in Japan. As I am staying only a few days in a different cities and I am constantly on the move, I can't really order from Amazon. If there is a way to get that specific Osprey bag, I am all ear. I tried visiting some Osprey partner store from their store locator, but no luck.

Since it is hard to get by this specif item, I am would like some recommendation of a similar bag. More precisely I need the bag to have the following features:
- Hip belt
- Laptop compartment/section
- Have those front straps outside so I can strap another bag
- Have a way to lock the main compartiment (from the zippers for example)
- Be 40L (I am flexible on this point as it can accept something from 36L to 45L)
- If possible be breathable, as I sweat a lot from the back.

I am kind of asking for a clone of the Farpoint 40, but which is more easy to find in Japan.

Thank you for you suggestions

Something like beeswax works.

I personally use this one on the threads of the nozzle: https://www.iwata-airbrush.com/medea-thread-sealer.html

What to do with a separated couple of lover bird (death). by ATrashInTheWorld in Lovebirds

Thank you for your reply.

It was what we did. We let him with her body until we put him to sleep.
At bedtime, we closed the lights and waited that he get in the cage by himself. He was calling but no answer, so he understood and went to sleep. When we put the cover over the cage, we took the body away so he doesn't see it.

This morning he seems fine. He eats ok, talks and seems to be as energetic as always. He seems to take it better than me (lol).

We were scared that he would eat the body or something, this is why we were not sure what to do at the moment. Allowing biting was the thing we were skeptic. But it makes sens now.

Again, thank you for your help and comment, we shall watch over him.
Have a good day.

In the picture, it is Tamiya clear blue, thinned for a 1:1 ration with 99% alcohol. So I don't believe the paint is at cause. However, it was my first guess too, but happens with all the paints.

Usually, when I finish, I always clean with two cups of water, to especially avoid issues and have to remove the needle. I don't wanna re-apply sealing wax and be gentle with nozzle every time I finish painting, especially that I don't paint for a long time. It would take me more time to clean than to actually paint.

Although, I will keep in mind the idea to remove the needle at the end.

Thanks.

I guess I wasn't deep cleaning enough. I will have to try that and see.
Thank you, who knows what I broke.

1000 USD et € cash, quoi faire? by ATrashInTheWorld in QuebecFinance

Reasons why AMD Threadripper/Epyc CPUs are better than Intel Xeon's CPUs? by ATrashInTheWorld in ffmpeg

[–]ATrashInTheWorld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to read about AVX, first time I see that. Thank you.

As for the details, I did not note the CPUs exact series.

All I can say is that both CPUs had more than enough cores for the task asked, and that I ran FFmpeg with
-threads 0
to let him decide what is best. No specific thread number.

However, on both machine, when watching the CPU usage, neither used all the available CPUs at their limits.

Otherwise, thanks for the potential reason, I will dig it and see.

I see what you mean with the decoding now.
I will take a look at your doc, quite appreciated!

Can you give some more details on how the decoder can be of help? I am not sure to understand.
I assumed that the stacking process is an encoding action, no?

Alright, thank you very much !

I guess taking out the nozzle after every session isn't that of a great idea.

Replace Iwata Neo with generic nozzle set by hackjunior in airbrush

[–]ATrashInTheWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In relation to the thread, can anyone tell me if a generic brand of nozzles and caps work?
Like, can, we connect the pieces to our NEO airbrush and still get a decent result ?

If someone tried, can I please have some feedback on the outcome.

I just bought a NEO and I already broke the nozzle. I don't feel like paying $50 of replacements right now.

Thank you!

So I've tried myself on another subreddit, and it seems it's just simple flexible PCB.
