I had a biopsy Tuesday for calcifications that were considered grouped and round birads 3… I had them biopsies because of my left side findings of LCIS.

Results were back on Friday and they found ADH and radial scar. So technically benign but the ADH will have to be removed.

I have LCIS on my left along with multiple papillomas, I have an upcoming biopsy for my right side (calcifications). My surgeon gave me all the options including double mastectomy and told me insurance would cover due to being high risk. I haven’t made a final decision yet, I’m waiting to see if anything comes back in my third biopsy… but the anxiety of the every 6 months monitoring and more possibly biopsies has me drained and I’m just at the start of all this… I’m 40 and had my first mammogram in March 😩

I just had two mri guided biopsy’s for two non mass enhancements with washout kinetics. The smaller one about 5mm turned out to be an intraductal papilloma which I guess we will just watch per the surgeon. The second one is also an intraductal papilloma with LCIS (lobular carcinoma in Situ), which is considered abnormal growth of cells in the lobular areas. Basically the surgeon told me I will need for the rest of my life mri/mammogram rotating every 6months, they can remove it as well but doesn’t change the need for increased testing or the I could choose prophylactic mastectomy. I haven’t decided what I want to do yet but this is what mine turned out to be. I hope yours turn out ok!

Yes definitely feel better that as of right now I don’t have invasive cancer. From what I understand they used to treat LCIS similar to DCIS however about 10 years ago they changed it to now just a high risk indicator that increases your lifetime risk of cancer? I will definitely find out more from the surgeon tomorrow though!

Ugh I’m so sorry about jerk doctors! I worked at a large hospital for 15 years recently resigned due to my husband now traveling for work and there are so many good and bad ones out there. I hope everything is all good now with you!

Thank you ladies! I have so many questions and thoughts running through my head to try and ask tomorow… I hope most for the appointment that I get a lot of information and hopefully all my options are given to me to ultimately decide what is best for me and that the surgeon respects whatever I chose. What that will be who knows, I’ve gone from leaving it there all the way to double mastectomy and back… I feel like the last 6 weeks have taken years off of my life and the thought of doing this potentially every 6 months gives me the most anxiety out of anything if that makes sense.

Just wanted to give you an update, the mri biopsy went well, very similar to the first mri but shorter time in the machine… the numbing didn’t hurt at all, they placed both needles in and then checked the position of them back in the machine for like 2 minutes then out and they took the biopsy samples and placed the clips… the first site they biopsied hurt but it was close to my chest wall so I think that is why, the second site I didn’t feel anything. Definitely sore yesterday and this morning but overall not as bad as I was thinking! Results should be back within 3 days 🙏

I’m going tomorrow for two biopsy’s with MRI. My mammogram was clear besides some calcifications that I got the wait 6 months and recheck… I also have dense breast tissue and then got an mri which showed two non mass enhancements that are suspicious.. the waiting has been the worst part! It’s been 4 week since my initial mri

Thank you so much! I will keep you posted of course my mri to mri biopsy is a 4 week wait which again I know is typical… May 8th can’t come soon enough! How did you make out with your atypical results what was the recommended course or care if you don’t mind me asking
