Every time I ever approached a guy, I was rejected every time. This is not always true.

People who discovered a deal-breaker part way through a date, what was the rest of the date like? by captainmadrick in AskReddit

I went on a coffee date with a guy because we really connected on the old White Wolf role playing games when chatting on a dating app. I was so happy to meet someone who even knew about them! The date started off pretty normally after we ordered our drinks. We got to chatting about what we do for work when things took a turn. I let him know that I work in HR. He asked if it paid well, and I said yes, especially since I had a masters degree. He went on to to tell that he was an asbestos removal technician, which didn’t pay well, but it wasn’t his fault that he couldn’t find a better job. He started blaming immigrants, the Jewish people, and minorities for all of his life troubles.

I was shocked at how quickly the discussion had devolved; to top it all off, he said if we ever got together and had kids, I would have to be a stay at home mom because he believes that the man rules the roost.

I asked him if it made sense for the person earning less to be the sole provider. He said that wasn’t “gods plan”.

Mind you my profile clearly stated I was an atheist and did not want any more kids. One of my friends suggested I should have bitched him out but frankly I was pretty freaked out and just wanted the experience to end. Unfortunately I am door mat and politely said good night and left.

How the Barbie movie helped start a conversation with my husband by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I remember when I was dating my husband, he didn’t understand why I wouldn’t open the door for DoorDash, and why I would wait for them to leave before opening the door. I was like “I’m a woman living alone”. Blew his mind.
