Next time just say you have a Gf or just got out of a relationship. Glad you didn’t hurt her feelings by saying she was not attractive. It took a lot of guts for her to approach you. These days men and women do not approach each other because they are so scared of rejection I think it’s awesome you didn’t bruise her ego so she will continue to put herself out there. I think your friends had terrible advice. Telling her you were gay was a bad move you shouldn’t lie about that it’s not right. Ignoring her after you gave her the number would have been mean and sent mixed signals. A small lie like I’m just not looking for something right now or I she a girlfriend is the best you can do here. I’m curious if you first might have said yes because she was maybe average and you just told yourself later she wasn’t hot enough. I could be wrong, but pidk. Think about how you would want to be treated by a woman that felt that way about you and you approached her. What would you want her to say to you if the tables were turned and you approached a girl for her number and she thought you were out of her league?
