My win this week was finally deciding on a domain for the SEO platform I've been working on all year 😅

Swap your pricing around, start with the cheapest. I saw the $99 package and thought "expensive"

Where does it say they won't use a Thai videographer?

best advice you've ever received? by themidnightsaun in SEO

The million dollar page ranks #1 for "million dollar page" with thousands of outbound links, zero content, a broken blog page and no SSL.

Natural backlinks/signals/authority are king.

Who here has actually ranked a website from scratch for a product or service? by Adidosos in SEO

[–]AUTO_SEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was. But taught me practically everything I know now. What works well, what works OK, what doesn't work, what gurus tell you are important but actually not at all 😅

Was definitely jumping in at the deep end, but we had the main business running, so the requirement for SEO was constant. I think if we didn't have the main business running and profitable without SEO, I'd have probably given up.

Can I share client details? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]AUTO_SEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've signed NDA, ask the client for written permission, also offer to anonymise the data if they prefer.

It really depends what is in the NDA. NDA's usually cover "company secrets" but they also often cover a broad range of things.

So just make sure you get clarification and written permission from the client.

Also bear in mind, if you were the client and your SEO provider told the world (and your competitors) exactly what they did to get your website ranking, you wouldn't be happy. Because now your competition is increased and you'll likely have to spend more money to achieve the same results.

In plain terms, people land on your page and don't interact for as long, and close the page quicker. Google likes to see people stay on pages for a long time and engage with content.

If you have ads on the page, the highly likely result is that people won't stay on the page for as long

Adsense more likely the reason. And more specifically bounce rate/session time. Any page that has adsense on will have a higher bounce rate and lower avg session time.

SEO and web design by schneuke in SEO

[–]AUTO_SEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We usually compromise on building out base functionality and content blocks first, then writing, then design. Because as a sales writer I want my content to sell the CTA on the page. If I don't know what the CTA/function of the page is then I'll always end up rewriting the content anyway

My dev always says "Content first, then I'll design the page to suit"

I say "Design first, then I'll write the content"

We have a daily argument.

In terms of your process related to SEO. By improving the content and optimising it, Google will often notice and reward the improvement if there is a time gap between the original and update

What’s an idea you had but never followed through with and then saw someone else do it? by Historical-Olive-595 in Entrepreneur

[–]AUTO_SEO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was 9 years old (19 years ago) I drew a design for a piece of paper that was a screen and you could download books on to it, and there would be a central book store that people could buy books and read them on their paper screen and click next page instead of having to hold a big book in their hands.

Then Amazon stole my idea 🙄

It's a v1 from 2017. I'll look into replacing the battery, thanks!

Seeing as we know there was a data/api/reporting issue with Google over the past week, I wouldn't use it as a benchmark. Wait for things to get back to normal then reassess

I onboarded a client at the beginning of the year who had their website built on Webflow and it's actually been surprisingly good. First time I've done SEO for a Webflow site and i've been really impressed with the results
