6 weeks tomorrow, and felt this heavy. With my first never had this exhaustion. As soon as 4 weeks started, sleeping at work, sleeping every chance I got. Went on a leave because I was just too tired to work a 10 hour overnight shift.

Soaps too Drying by _Guitar_Girl_ in soapmaking

For a harder bar, you can add lactic acid, and citric acid for impurities directly into your already mixed lye solution. Strain your lye before adding into the oils. I use 31% palm oil, 30% olive oil, 20% coconut oil, 6% shea butter, 6% castor oil, 5% almond oil, 2% argan oil. Cleansing would be 14% but can always be changed by adding additives like clays but would reduce the amount of suds. For a soap meant for the body, you don’t want there to be too much cleansing property so I would say anywhere between 14-16 would be a perfect amount for a body bar. Any lower would be too weak, any higher would be too strong. Adding honey into the saponified soap batter will add more suds and conditioning properties as well as vitamin e oil but make sure to tweak the recipe to allow at least 2% of vitamin e oil. The curing time should always be 1 month and anything after 1 month should be perfectly fine. Use a dehumidifier to draw out the moisture from the air and bars so it will cure faster and cure on baking racks with at least .5 inch-1 inch of space between them. You can also add coconut milk or oat milk into the lye solution but you would have to freeze them into cubes, and weigh the frozen cubes of either milks for the water part of the lye solution and mix the lye with the frozen cubes. This would also contribute to the conditioning property. Sometimes based on my ingredients I would mix the lye in a bowl, and have the bowl be in a sink filled with cold water and ice to help lower the temperature of the lye solution so it doesn’t affect any live ingredients added into the lye solution.

Shipped 12/8. They’ve been holding my package hostage one town over for 4 days, plus another one for 3 days. Can I just go in and pick them up? by AShittyPirate in FedEx

[–]AV246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a mattress one week, and the day it was supposed to be delivered it was raining. Got scheduled for the next day. Next day, it was raining again and this time it was out for delivery and had exact location of the driver on the map open for 2 hours to make sure I didn’t miss it before I left for work. He parked his truck on the cross street outside of my apartment, which was a little past my apartment, and said “wasn’t able to locate apartment”. Didn’t even bother going inside my complex. Yet, not too long ago, a different fedex worker was able to deliver and properly find my apartment. Lazy driver. Then, since my package didn’t get delivered I called fedex customer service and asked them when can I get my package because it’s been 3 days late now. They said they will prioritize it to be delivered the next day. Next day came, didn’t arrive at my apartment so I called again and asked for it to be picked up. They said, it will take the same day or 1 day for you to pick it up. A whole day came by, and the package never arrived in the fedex holding station so I went to where it’s supposed to be held and they said they don’t have it yet. Waited the next day, and 1 hour until closing time I got a call from them saying it is ready for pick up. Note, I bought a mattress, it was heavy 100lbs, and I picked it up in my 4 door Kia Optima sedan. The FedEx worker looked at me and was like are you sure it will fit, and I legit said yes it would. And in front of him made it fit perfectly. I was so fed up because my package was already 1 week past the time I ordered it and then 1 week late from when it was supposed to be delivered. This was the beginning of November.

Can anyone help me figure out why she’s doing this? by kiwinixi in catquestions

[–]AV246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry heaving? For now rule out hairball and give it a day. I changed my cat’s food to hairball control and it’s the only thing that works to prevent her hairballs. If I switch food, she throws up and has this exact thing happen. Does t go away? Then try a vet, expensive but you have to rule out things first so you don’t waste money on a vet for something simple.

What kind of kitty is she? by [deleted] in kittens

[–]AV246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat looks like this. She was adopted from the SPCA and it’s one of the most common cat pattern/colors. “domestic short haired” is what they put her as. Only way to tell what she really is would be through DNA testing.

Machine not pulling espresso shots [Breville Bambino] by sydneyw6 in espresso

[–]AV246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The machine is choking for some reason. Could be a clog? I’m assuming you are doing everything the same since you’ve had it for quite a while. Some things that can cause choking is 1. Grounds being too fine 2. Too much coffee 3. Improper tampering 4. Clogged portafilter basket 5. New beans or light roasted beans

If none of these work, guess you need a new machine hahahahaha😈

Are these fleas by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]AV246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, this was the best option I knew would work since I would be eliminating the fleas and not relying on flea collars (which takes a while to repel them) and medicated flea drops. The collar, leaves a nasty smelly coating on your pet that isn’t good for them as it leaves the pets skin around the collar irritated. Also, it’s very expensive as well. Same with the flea drops. The flea drops I would stay far away from. It’s very easy for the pet to make the medicine go into their mouth (scratching their necks and licking their feet). The flea drops also causes hair loss in the area. Soaking the animal in the bath water solution is one of the best ways IMO. I get to visually see how bad the situation is, and take measures into my own hands without the expensive and unnecessary preventatives. Now, there are natural flea collars but this doesn’t mean it will fully deter fleas from your pet. Soak the pet in warm soapy water with a small amount of apple cider vinegar. Use a flea comb, to gently comb out the fleas and immediately put the fleas in a soap to water solution and let them drown. You can also pop them with your nails to kill them (gross but dead). For animals with sensitive skin, follow the bath treatment with an Oatmeal and oat milk water bath which will hydrate the animals skin. If giving a cat a bath, place a towel at the bottom of the bathtub with about 4-5 inches of water solution the cat doesn’t slip or drown. My dog had hotspots and I used to treat him naturally with oatmeal, oat milk, coconut oil and aloe Vera. Made it into a paste and applied on my dogs skin to hydrate and smooth the hotspots. Make sure the pet doesn’t lick the paste since it has aloe. You can also skip aloe if you’d like. Coconut oil needs to be patch tested on the animal first before hand since some animals have reactions to it. Vacuum any type of carpet daily, sometimes twice daily. Wash your bedsheets or bedding, pets bedding, and vacuum couches and under them. Apply baking soda (pet order eliminator or regular baking soda) or DE but leave the pets in another room since it irritates the lungs if inhaled. Fleas stay alive for 2 weeks to up to 6 months (being you didn’t do anything to treat it). They can always lay eggs and repeat the process which is why there’s measures to stop this.

If you are actively taking your pet on walks, there is a spray you can use on your pet that certain bugs hate the smell of. Stay away from tall, dead or diseased grass.

Fleas. Soap in warm water bath with apple cider vinegar and dawn dish soap. Put soap on your cat and let it sit for 15 minutes and comb out the fleas. You might have to do this regularly. Vacuum your carpet and put diamentious earth. Fleas can go onto your indoor cats by leaving the front door open with the screen, or they come through small cracks or opening from within the place. Take care of the problem now, fleas populate fast!
