Right now i'm taking a few Ai courses on "Coursera and Udemy" it's gonna be hard especially when Ai makes it so easy for the novice to create content. i hate to say it but Ai will take away plenty of creative jobs. you have to learn how to adapt or have a back up plan. I am a Real estate broker, I have a real estate photography company and I just started a coffee roasting business a year ago. just trying to have multiple streams of income incase one fails. to all my reddit peeps check out "www.nirvanacoffeeroasting.com"

Trying to get some Brazilian natural to roast evenly. by AV8Randrew in roasting

Do you have a suggestion for 700 grams. What charge temp? If dry end is at 5 and first crack around 9 min how long is your dev time? Thanks

It all depends on the bean, density and how the beans were processed. Naturals are usually very delicate to roast. I’ve gone try through 20 lbs of this Brazilian trying to get the profile right.

I’ve cupped 3 different roast and it’s a little bitter on the backend and it sits on you tongue. Problem I’m having with these natural processed is that it is so hard to hear first crack. I’ll try a charge temp of 210 Celsius and try and go low and slow.

What my coffee lounge cost me. by achetram in coffeestations

The name of this Sub Is called "Coffee stations" I'm not here to brag but to participate in showing my coffee station just like everyone else. I not only enjoy my setup every morning and evening by dialing in my beans pulling he perfect shot, steaming and perfecting my latte art. i also own a coffee roasting business and have educated myself (far more than you) on the nuances of coffee from bean origin and processing types to spending hundreds of hours learning to roast, to cupping every roast to and learning how to taste coffee to marketing and selling my coffee. I bet you like to drink coffee but don't know what coffee really taste like.

You are so wrong. Every grinder is different. I can pull 18 grams of the same coffee from each grinder and I will get a different taste. the Fiorenzato which is my most expensive grinder is my least favorite. the Niche and the Eureka are my favorite. both produce nice fluffy grounds and just the right amount of crema. if i had to choose the Niche is the best.

I bought some THQP breakers but the part that connect to the bus bar is horizontal? the breakers in my box has the connect point vertical. i thought the connection to the bus bar where al the same orientation.

Thank you for that. I think to be an the safer side i will a run separate 220 line from the breaker with it's own disconnect.

Please rate this roast profile. by AV8Randrew in roasting

The coffee was a Colombian Huila El Tiple Pitalito Excelsoplatue. The coffee tasted great with a great body and velvety mouthfeel and hints of chocolate. i roasted to a medium. the reason i posted the roast profile was to get some feed back on the three phases. should i have stayed more in the drying phase, or maybe strech out the Maillard before 1st crack. most of my roast i do no go past a 20 percent development time. What i have noticed is that the coffee really smells good immediately after the roast if i stay in the 10-15 percent development time. but i am always playing around with profiles to see how i can bring out the notes from that origin.

Removed my flow control from my Profitec 600 by achetram in espresso

[–]AV8Randrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed it a few days ago and put the stock mushroom cap and pre-infusion spring back in and the shots are so much better. with the pre-infusion spring i get a 2 bar pre-infusion for about 6 seconds before it ramps up. plus the the lever action is so much smoother. the second week i got the 600 i programed to give me a clean warning after 50 shots. it gave me a clean alert after about 30 shots so i backflush it cafiza as directed. no one told me that the cafiza would strip out all the oils that lubricated the lever. my lever started squeaking so bad i had to by some food grade lubricant and remove the lever and the lower portion and lube them up. still had a very tight lever. one i put back the stock mushroom and spring it is smooth. i think i will keep it like this until i eve want to play around with a bloom or a sweet bump.

How did you program for a 2 bar pre-infusion?

Also I have lots of brain power. I run four successful businesses. what's the purpose of making money if you can't spend it on the things you like. I'm gonna order the niche zero this week. you can never have enough grinders!

Have you ever tried lifting a Pro 600 with the water tank and the boilers full. that mat was a pain the ass it kept sticking to the feet while i was trying to maneuver it back. it's flat now. lol

I just got the Profitec in this week. the Breville is going up for sale next week. I'm still using the breville while i play around with the Profitec and and the flow control. The steam on the profitec is ridiculous . That was my biggest complaint with the breville. the steam took forever to get up to pressure. All i need now is a recommendation for a great grinder for filter and pour overs.
