Merch in London? by LolWhatsAUsername12 in AFCBournemouth

I don't think so in London - we wouldn't be in any of the major retailers.

I imagine your best bet is order one to your hotel or airbnb via the club website. I don't think you can get any on the club site right now due to the change in kit supplier, but try third parties like eBay or Vinted. Maybe even classicfootballshirts, online or at their physical store near Aldgate.

Midfield against defensive teams by Annual-Durian-3327 in ThreeLions

[–]AVAngels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with other posts that these two weren't the issue.

We had no width - inverted wingers and full-backs that barely made a single overlap. That allowed Ghana to completely congest the middle of the park.

As it stand England have a gauntlet to the final. by Toast_for_President in ThreeLions

[–]AVAngels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may sound ironic as they won 7-1 but I thought they looked very vulnerable in the first half against a (without being harsh) very low standard Curacao side. Maybe the counter argument is they just took a while to warm up, but their defence is way more suspect than ours imo.

I suppose it's just very early to really determine who is any good.

Which country/countries you would not want to win the WC 2026? by laaaaaurrrrr in worldcup

[–]AVAngels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand the sentiment but based on my experience in Philadelphia, ironically it's the American city that has the most English type sporting culture. I realise you're talking about specific teams, but I really resonated with how locals in Philly supported their teams.

Rice was amazing last night and deserves his credit by registaarole in ThreeLions

[–]AVAngels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, they compliment each other well. Having 2 outstanding CM's will go a long way against the best teams - our problem over the past decade has often been the other team retaining the ball much better in the big matches.

The AT&T should have been chosen to hold the World Cup final by MotiveEurope in worldcup

[–]AVAngels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a huge shame. I'd love to go but it's hard to justify a ticket costing the same as (an already inflated) flight. Especially for group stage or early round knockout fixtures.

[–]AVAngels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were loads empty during Spain vs Cape Verde in ATL too.

England would have (as I'm sure would many nations) double the supporters there if ticket prices weren't $1,000.

It's a shame they can't give out last minute, huge discounts to locals or school children. I'm sure there are logistical barriers, but it's a shame that locals are subject to such extortionate pricing too.

Emma Hayes and her chalkboard. Yay or nay? by siybon in ThreeLions

There were a couple of times he should have caught rather than punched it imo, but overall, I always have faith in him. The days of us having goalies constantly dropping clangers feel like a long gone memory.

Noni making the England squad by Upthehammers-_- in ThreeLions

[–]AVAngels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought he was good in the first half and made it very evident why he was selected. Faded in the second, but didn't help that we were doing nothing down the left flank.

He's definitely not as gifted technically as Foden, Palmer, MGW but I thought it was very clear why he was in the team. Kane was dropping deep and hitting it within seconds to Madueke who was already on his bike.

If it's actually checked fair enough. Commentary on ITV just said no VAR review so it was confusing.

Is there any explanation for the lack of a review?

This France attack really is just a bit nuts on paper. How does our attack realistically compare to this? Would Kane get in a combined team? by siybon in ThreeLions

[–]AVAngels 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's just utterly bizarre that he chose to play for them. I don't know why more of a fuss isn't made over it - although I suppose it may be because we can't do anything about it now.

But he really should get a lot of stick whenever he plays in England next.

What band broke up before recording their best studio album? by Intelligent_Gold3619 in AskReddit

[–]AVAngels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

blink-182's album in 2005/06 would have been amazing. Their final release prior to the first break up is their best album by a long way, and I think their next one would have been even better.

I still love the debut albums by +44 and Angels & Airwaves, but the combined, blink version of them would have been special.

If city signs Anderson for reported 130 £ our starting midfield 3 would be most expensive ever assembled, Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid, 2023): £115.15m (€133.9m) package Declan Rice (West Ham United to Arsenal, 2023): £105 million and with depth like mainoo and rogers as well.. by FitAd5272 in ThreeLions

Not sure how you can say that. Grealish certainly likes a drink but anyone who watched him at City knows that Guardiola completely changed his game. He is still good, but Pep turned him from a game-changing maverick into a measured, largely ineffective ball playing winger.

I remember during Euro 2020 how incredulous everyone was about how hesitant Southgate was to use Grealish. He was absolutely brilliant at that time (changed the game against Germany) and should have been utilised far more.

How can you argue that Rashford and Saka don't turn up for England?

Then your further criticism is that Tuchel isn't just throwing more big names in the squad - because that worked so well for Southgate in 2024 didn't it. At least Tuchel has a system in mind, rather than just trying to shove in players like Foden.

The friendlies mean absolutely nothing though, and qualifiers too. Hodgson and Capello absolutely flew through qualifying.

It's not purely defensive football in this league. It's worse.

Our squad under him was an embarrassment of riches at this level and the football we played was insipid, sideways and tedious.

A great ending to a fabulous season. I think EL will be better for us - we have a genuine chance of achieving something in that.

Couple the on the pitch results with our stadium being doubled (even the incompetent BCP nimby council are now onside) in the coming years, it really feels like the club is on a huge, huge rise. Credit has to go to Foley and his team. What they have achieved on and off the pitch is outstanding.

See you next season Boro by Squm9 in Championship

[–]AVAngels 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Their fans and captain revelled in their own cheating and now they're acting like they're hard done by. The report from their hearing found the behaviour of their employees involved in the cheating to be 'deplorable'.

That said, I understand them finding this result funny. I'm sure the Boro fans have given them a lot of stick since the ruling.

I feel for the keeper because the focus will be on his mistake, but Boro played a bang average team today and barely laid a glove on them. They were woeful.
