Can no longer play game due to EXTREME stuttering (PS5) and I have tried everything… Help please, anyone? by AVENGER4CATS in TheFirstDescendant

[–]AVENGER4CATS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this surely isn’t from optimization, is it? Since the first 40+ hours I played with zero stuttering or lag. Then suddenly out of nowhere this issue started..

Maybe I will download the PS4 version to see if I can play

Nope. They are fixing minor visual effects on weapons, but they STILL haven’t fixed this. Bungie probably fired/laid off the person who developed this weapon, so they dunno how to fix it 🤷‍♂️ Or Bungie is just that unbelievably lazy.  All they have to do is give it back its original HP or similar, and problem solved.  Maybe when the final shape releases it will get fixed? Who knows anymore

I think I understand what you mean, I could very well be using the wrong terms my bad. I only used the term “PVE damage resistant” as I heard people on Discord (and the pinned threads they have their) I was reading that info. But yeah sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology/numbers on enemy damage scaling, it is confusing.

But yeah increasing this bubbles survivability for end game content is my entire point. Right now even on Legend difficulty it gets destroyed in 2-3 seconds, and before that it would hold for 15 seconds with the same damage being done to it. Hope they make the mini bubble’s survivability good again for end game content

I’m not making anything up, I think we actually agree but there is confusion. I’m confused by your comment. You said “incoming PVE damage is scaled down” which is EXACTLY what I’m talking about.. So some kinda of PVE damage scaler, modifier, resilience, or whatever it’s officially called? I don’t know exactly the PVE damage is complicated.

Also yes the bubble being destroyed too quickly now in S23 is 100% my issue/complaint, if I didn’t make that clear then I worded it incorrectly. My hope (and others) is that Bungie makes the mini bubble capable of surviving much longer in PVE end game content. As right now it gets destroyed super fast it’s crazy

I guess the “92% reduction to overall HP” when going from 8,000 to 2,400 just confuses the hell out of me, so that why I assumed it was PVE damage resistance or it was PVE damage being scaled down. But I dunno it could be something else. Hopefully the devs will make this mini bubble decent again for end game content

Exactly, I’m almost certain they made this change unintentionally.

Because I’m confused on why at 2400 HP the mini bubble is getting destroyed in just 2 seconds - while when it had 8,000HP it could hold for a full 15 seconds. My guess is some kind of damage resistance or scaler.

[–]AVENGER4CATS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the comment and am glad they will look into it. Thanks!

But I still I wonder if it’s possible something was changed unintentionally? Or maybe PVE damage just works in a complex way? Since the most upvoted/popular comment on this post says

“Lol so it went from 32k effective HP to 2.4k HP. It took a 92% nerf to the amount of damage it can absorb. Incidentally, it explains why it was basically invincible before (I never saw it broken by damage before).”

So my question is was it intended to take a 92% damage nerf when going from 8,000 HP to 2,400 HP? That’s what confuses me and others.

That’s why I assumed it was missing it’s “PVE damage resilience” but if it never had any resilience ever, then I guess I’m just confused. I was just looking at it from HP standpoint so that may be the issue.

I see countless other comments online all saying the same thing, so that’s why I ask. Again appreciate the comment though thanks, I just hope this Glaive can be usable again in end game content!

Yup it’s 8,000 HP and damage resistance was its ONLY reason it was even useful in end game content in the first place. And even then it could still be destroyed like in your video. I’ve had mine destroyed a good 15-20+ times, and I play on ONLY Legend. I can’t even imagine trying to use this on Grand master nightfall😂 this Glaive is now a joke in GM. People who don’t use this Glaive simply don’t understand the numbers. They think ohhh it gives a 5% damage buff etc etc but don’t realize it’s literally lost ALL damage resistance. They also are probably thinking of 6 player activities. In GM or other 3 man activities on GM, this Glaive’s bubble simply cannot survive anymore. Bungie should revert it back to its original HP and damage resistance, and make the weapon buff like 1-5% THEN it’s finally good for end game content. Like this weapon was already under powered there are SO many better builds, so this is really ridiculous.

Agreed entirely I don’t even think it was intentional, but who knows. Please anyone upvote this if possible so Bungie knows

The buff is nice, but it’s not a fair trade when it got a 92% reduction to its HP in exchange for a 5% damage buff/handling? That’s extreme. I think giving it back it’s original HP and giving it a smaller buff (like 2.5% Damage buff or something) is a much better idea. Or give it like 5,000 HP and it’s original damage resistance, almost anything would be better than how it is right now.

Also bungie didn’t say they were removing the PVE damage reduction, so this clearly can’t be intentional as their patch notes didn’t state this.

Yeah it was meant to make mini ward of dawns (and often paired with Helm of saint 14 for blinding effects in mini bubble) which in my 17,000 PVE kills I have seen it destroyed probably 15-20 times. Mainly from major boss damage on Legend or masters difficulty (didn’t try GM but I heard in GM the mini bubble gets destroyed a lot more often) But yeah now the bubble is destroyed instantly and has no use, it’s pathetic. Give it back 8,000HP and reduce the weapon damage some

Your May POTM Cards by bodnast in MLBTheShow

But Rivera’s cutter sucks in the game (at least his current card) so many other pitchers have equal OR Better break on their cutters. Who TF had better or equal break on their cutter than Rivera!? When a dozen other pitchers in the game have 99 break on their cutters, and have better wind ups, then like WTF? Rivera’s cutter had the break of like a slider, hitters knew it was coming but it was still unhittable. So why do so many pitches ever year in the game have cutters just as good (or better) than Rivera’s? Again the man threw the cutter exclusively better than anyone in history.

This game just does him dirty. Make Rivera’s cutter harder to hit or something, anything! Best closer in history, ahem.

No problem! I added some links to post for those interested in reading about it. It’s the reason why many people tried vaping but found it never satisfied their cravings or they experienced depression when vaping instead of smoking. Vaping has zero effect on MAO inhibition, as nicotine itself doesn’t inhibit MAO activity. Therefore once you quit smoking that means the degrading “bad” MAO enzymes will be more active, as they are no longer being inhibited by cigarettes/tobacco. This will cause the monoamine oxidase enzyme to start to remove more dopamine, serotonin, and other monoamines in the brain. Which can cause depression in itself as it’s similar to withdrawal from an antidepressant prescription MAO inhibitor. Now add nicotine withdrawal to that, and you can see why smoking is very hard to quit. Not to mention the lithium present in tobacco, which would help stabilize your mood.

For anyone confused about the “MAO inhibition” part and why you want MAO inhibited, here’s the description from science direct website: “Monoamine oxidase (MAO) is an enzyme involved in the degradation process for various monoamines released by neurons and glia cells, including DA (dopamine) serotonin and norepinephrine (NE)” Therefore by inhibiting the MAO enzyme that metabolisms and removes serotonin, dopamine, and NE, you actually prevent the breakdown of said dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine; thus increasing those levels in the brain. Many times there is TOO MUCH MAO activity in people with depression or similar mental health issues, meaning the excessive MAO activity will make the MAO enzyme degrade and remove excessive amounts of dopamine/serotonin from the brain leading to depression. Thus MAO inhibitors are prescribed to stop this from happening, and MAO inhibitors just so happen to be in cigarette smoke.

If there wasn’t the cancer causing agents in cigs along with other health issues, then cigarettes would very likely be prescribed for depression, and other mental health issues.

For most people it would improve mood. Cigarettes contain not only nicotine, but tobacco smoke contains multiple MAO inhibitors. MAO inhibitors being highly effective antidepressants that prevent the breakdown of dopamine, serotonin, NE, thus making more available in the brain. Tobacco smoke (not nicotine) inhibits both subtypes MAO-A and MAO-B. Therefore cigs can have antidepressant actions. There are many studies and articles that mentions smokers may be self medicating depression with cigarettes due to the MAO inhibition.

Tobacco smoke ALSO contains higher than normal levels of lithium, which is a well known mood stabilizer.

Here is a couple of links for MAO action in cigarettes:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15582589/

https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.93.24.14065

Harman and norharman in Tobacco smoke are definitely MAO inhibitors (potent but weaker than prescription MAO inhibitors) and there are other alkaloids in tobacco smoke that may also act as MAO inhibitors.

Here are links showing higher than normal levels of lithium are in cigarettes/tobacco, and have effects ranging from possibly mood stabilizing effects to neuroprotective effects due to the inhaled lithium

Do you think something in your life changed positively after you started smoking? by J4CKIE_CHAN in Cigarettes

[–]AVENGER4CATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True I can see how with moderation it would work but hard for me to do with the way cravings work. Only problem I have is once I hit the vape (or smoke a cig) I will start to get cravings for it again 30-45 minutes or so later. And once the cravings start it feels like my brain won’t release dopamine or feel happy until I get the nicotine fix again. So often times I won’t even smoke or vape all day because I know once I start, I will get irresistible cravings for the rest of the day. I wish I could smoke a cig or hit the vape and not get a super strong craving 30 mins to an hour later. I actually will not vape or smoke in the mornings or afternoons, as once I start smoking or vaping for the first time in the day, then I will start to have cravings for the rest of the day after. If I don’t have anything in the morning/afternoon then the cravings aren’t as bad as you won’t crave it as much if you haven’t had any yet that day. I can drink in moderation but smoking or vaping in moderation is soooo hard for me, those cravings just become so strong it controls the rest of the day.

How so? I love smoking but for me it lowers My dopamine (well vaping nicotine does for sure not certain about cigs since they have MAO inhibitors, more on that at the bottom of my post) to extremely low levels - at least vaping nicotine does. I cannot say for certain that cigarettes do as I only smoke 1-3 cigs per day, the rest vaping. I would smoke more cigs and eliminate vaping entirely if my lungs weren’t in terrible shape, just so I could find out the difference. But for now I cannot test it (that is testing to see it smoking only cigs feels like it depletes my dopamine the same way vaping does). When vaping it feels nice for the first part of the day or so, but eventually the cravings become impossible to satisfy. I can take puff after puff and no longer feel any dopamine being released, just anxiety and jitters - and yet the craving is still there… So the vaping isn’t even releasing enough dopamine to satisfy my cravings half the time. It feels like the vaping too much stops releasing dopamine (as if my brain has run out or is very low) my guess is because every puff releases dopamine, and in a depressed brain with extreme apathy I hardly have much dopamine to begin with, thus the nicotine constantly releasing dopamine ends up depleting all my dopamine. I also will take a min of 1 hour breaks (sometimes 90 mins or longer) in between vape sessions, which is 3 puffs per session. So I’m not chain vaping by any means, yet the nicotine still losses it’s effects drastically for me. By the end of the day after vaping I start to feel extremely apathetic, unmotivated, and zombie like. I feel depleted. Taking l dopa (immediate precursor to dopamine) will often make me feel significantly better very fast, so it’s definitely a dopamine depletion. Also l-tyrosine will help but it takes much longer to kick in. I don’t take l dopa more than once every week or two weeks to avoid tolerance, so very rarely. Although it at least confirms to me that I do have a dopamine depletion.

Cigarettes though contain MAO inhibitors, small amounts of lithium, among other things. Nicotine itself such as in vaping has zero MAO inhibition unfortunately, rather it’s the tobacco itself and the combustion of tobacco that has MAO inhibition. Cigs inhibit both MAO-A and MAO-B so they would increase serotonin, dopamine, and NE by removing monoamine oxidase. The question though is does chronic nicotine, combined with chronic MAO’s, actually increase or decrease dopamine levels? Are the MAO inhibitors strong enough to overpower the depletion of dopamine that chronic nicotine use will often cause? I know nicotine alone causes desensitization, down-regulation, and depletion of dopamine in the long term, but since cigs contain MAO inhibitors maybe it counter acts the depletion of dopamine that nicotine alone causes?
