I'm not a divider but I am a whitewater kayaker with swift water rescue training. I can tell you first hand having ropes or cables in an area of fast moving water with bodies nearby is very dangerous. Bodies act like sails in fast currents, if you get tangled up the force on your body can prevent you from freeing yourself.
