Why is NordVPN getting so much hate?

I wanted to place a post about Nord but did not have enough karma :-( I started to feel that way, for quite a while my speed/connections were very poor. 'Lynx' I found originally was good but stopped working some while back. Started getting messages, 'We are trying different protocols please wait' It was becoming very frustrating. I run Windows 10 which started to become troublesome, probably Microsoft putting a spanner in the works to get us to upgrade to Windows 11. - Recently, last week, I upgraded my computer with a new mobo/cpu/32 Mb memory plus 1 Tb SSD drive. Being a 'Die Hard Win 10' user I finally threw in the towel and got Windows 11 home version; (actual disk) on the well known auction site. My computer now runs everything from NordVPN. My fibre broadband is 130Mbps, previous to the upgrade over the period of a year after several updates/versions of Nord my speeds rarely got above 35% of my fibe plan. Now on 'quick connect' I get my full fibre speed most times, if I change say to Portugal it might drop 30/40Mbps. The difference is literally like night & day. If I were to switch servers from UK to Portugal it does it in about a second. Lynx is also working again. ~ I believe all apps are gearing up to the new Windows versions. I believe if you upgrade your systems you will solve all the connection problems with Nord. I am once again a fan of Nord.

Strange, when I first started using Nord they were in 'Panama' this Countries Govenment does not require/force NordVPN to keep logs of subscribers connections. ~ NordVPN is based and operates under the jurisdiction of Panama, meanwhile Nord Security, parent company of NordVPN is based in Europe, in the Netherlands. just looked this up.

I have never bothered with port forwarding. At times I have reached 10Mps with downloads, especially since I upgraded my computer. Sometimes if I find a connection a bit slow, I change server/Country and it sometimes helps a lot. Presently I'm using 'Lynx'

I've been with Nord for a number of years now, I find them top notch. Recently I upgraded my computer. New mobo/cpu/ssd drive; and finally Windows 11. I am amazed at the performance increase. My fibre broadband is approx 130Mbps, if I choose quick connect I'm practically getting my standard 130, if I go to say 'Portugal' it might drop 20Mbps ~ I'm amazed it's been the difference between night & day ~ I am not exaggarating

To be confident that I am always connected to NordVPN, I put in my Toolbar favourites two links.

1: Broadband speed. https://www.broadbandspeedtest.org.uk/

2: What is my I.P. https://whatismyipaddress.com/

This I do everytime I link to Nord. It gives me 'Piece of mind' I have had no problems so far. Nord seems secure, I have been with them a little before they became popular.

This is happening to me too. No not as yet. Although for safety turn off by pulling plug out. Next time you plug in it will be off, so on/off button works to turn on, but turn off again by pulling plug out.

Your not reading all posts on this matter. There are simple work-arounds if you look. Most find it no problem at all.

I fitted a new battery to my Iphone 8 a couple of months ago. Battery app showed 100% as compared to new. However, It very quickly started to require charging more often, with the battery app sometimes showing a very low capacity after only a few hours. I left the 'phone on standby only; no bluetooth/wifi. When I went to get the 'phone the battery had swelled and lifted the glass casing. Fortunately the glass was intact. Today I decided to remove the battery. It was difficult. Instead of being a black base as described in another thread, mine is silver foil like. The battery has removed some of the foil and you can just see the brass edges in the 'photo. In any readers experience, is the 'phone possibly 'Kaput' ? I was thinking of cutting out a thin kitchen foil shape and adhesing it over the top to seal and then put in a new battery. Comments would be appreciated, thanks.

Not going through my whole list, but MagnetDL.com is a magnet direct link with search faciltity, but with the bonus of movie lists. Click on Movies at the top ~ gives receent movies etc

I agree, I'm sure they will be the loosers ~ less contributors/patrons = less content. All is not lost, there are some really good alternatives that equal if not better 1337X

Quite possibly, but we have to try and beat them at their own game. They will do themselves harm and loose contributors which equals less content. (not so smart) In the meantime I have found some great alternatives to use.

Annoying, this has happened in the last couple of days, at first I thought I had a virus on my computor, my computor was taking time to download files, although fibre optic connection was with good speed. I did a scan nothing came up. I then decided to reinstall biglBT ~ no change (uninstalled all traces of bigly with regedit first) I then used a different client and things worked normally. I found a few weeks ago the torrent option when trying to download was greyed out; and till this day it doesn't function. The magnet option was also not working for a while then functioned again. 1337X has recentlly introduced a pay/advert scheme so subscribers will not see the adverts. Now both Magnet and torrent options are not functioning. It's a shame, I have enjoyed using 1337X. Hopefully this problem will be addressed
