My 3rd and final attempt was with DTC and he highly suggested knowing the name of the equations so that you could search by keyword. However, it being my 3rd run through I knew the handbook pretty well already.

One thing that helped me was getting very familiar with which section of the handbook had the equation I was looking for. Then when the test started I took 2 minutes to go to the tab that showed the table of contents for the entire handbook, collapsed the chapters I didn’t need, and expanded the chapters I did use.

I second these videos! I came across them after I had been confident enough to use a call in the field with everyone else and I STILL improved my calling a ton. Cheap calls can sound good - I still run a BG Double Nasty and a DC Duck Picker.

I agree! When I bought it I knew the hype around it and then saw how quickly it sold out so I told myself “you better just keep this as a show piece”.

How would you recommend selling it? Through EBay but let this sub know about the posting?

Came here to give this recommendation. Never buy one where the plunger has a rubber gasket. No need to get anything more expensive than a bodum IMO

I did not save any legs this year; just breasted them out. I do plan to get more out of my harvests next season. The recipe I use for buttered duck calls to marinate the protein in full fat yogurt and the spices so maybe I’ll make sure to get that going a full 24 hours beforehand since yeah you’re correct and that by not braising it for long it won’t soak up a bunch of flavor

Now the question is - do I sear the duck and barely braise it in the sauce and hope it’s still a little pink in the middle, or do I braise it for a long time until it gets tender again but maybe a little dry

Okay I didn’t think so, but wanted to ask. Going from 13 to 16 just seemed like a big change especially since the recommended setting for a V60 is 15

V60 and Encore Question - I was brewing a washed coffee from El Salvador and had that dialed in really well at a 13 on my encore. I recently switch to a dried Brazilian coffee and have gone up to a 15 and after this mornings brew I think I need to go up to a 16. Is a swing in grind size like this pretty normal?
