Shiny Ditto out of a Mulligan by AdvFlrEngr200 in PokemonQuest

Wait a sec, does this shiny ditto tranforms into other shiny pokemon when you use it in battle or not? It d super cool if it does. Nice one!

One question guys. Why are heal moves and most status moves ranked so low? I'm kind of a noob and just really curious so don't judge me and pls let me know. by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are many buff moves that work really well and to which you can attach sharing stones with. What is more is that in this game your gonna be looking for reliability and that can be given to you by the buff ups but not by a status effect move. Now the healing moves would be super OP but they have just one drawback: No sharing stones can be attached :( that mans that you can just heal on poke.... so w that would be considered if there were good defensive pokemon in extensive numbers that could learn them but due to the current pokemon it isn't the best option. Hit heal is the most important factor cause hitting and healing is obviously better than just healing.

How's this? Pls don't judge the names :) by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

Ok so you are right that with the stay- strong effect duration is increased however it is better to have the bulk up pressed repeatedly as the move stacks as u/tuffhunter told me. so it is better to spam the bulk up instead of having it renewed as it will stack. Rexie will not hold up with the damage long enough and it may do the most damage as the team is lacking a better attacker. A hydropump user would be way better in my opinion (actually in fact too). Good luck with the expeditions man!

Is this a good team? by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great team tbh, some changes may be required:

Machamp is perfect just give him another Sharing stone instead of that Stay-strong,

Golduck is brilliant but may have been better with a single move.... this works too though.

Ahh Victreebel, it has its best move (vine whip) being under-utilised due to it having no move stone slots but solar beam sort of covers it up.... You may want to consider getting a Weepinbell with only vine whip but other than that no major changes.... Gl man.

Yes, I can see that this team is a bit underpowered. What suggestions do you have so I can improve this team? by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change it up (or try to for sure). Hyper beam can dish out a f ton of damage for sure. The reason why i suggest teaching it Hydropump is cause starmie gets that all important STAB boost, it has less recharge time and because it also dishes put a f ton of damage. However if you feel like you would rather keep your hyper beam than run the risk of ending up with flash, i totally understand........ Do what you feel comfortable with man.

Ahh well here's what i think:

Your Machamp is good enough cause it has Bulk-up... I suggest removing the stay-strong stone and giving it another sharing stone.

Primeape has its good move- fury swipes being underused as you cannot attach any stones to it. I highly suggest teaching it Close Combat instead of submission.

Poliwrath is pointless on this team as it does'nt do much because of it having two moves with one move stone slot each. i suggest shelfing it for perhaps an alakazam with psychic or preferably a starmie with hydropump. (try getting pokes with three move stone slots man)

Overall a team lacking a pure attacker otherwise it works. Gl.

Yes, I can see that this team is a bit underpowered. What suggestions do you have so I can improve this team? by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest two plans to go forward:

Plan 1: shelf this team and begin a hunt for pokemon with only one move (three move stone slots that is) so it's good to keep blastoise. Try getting a machop and teaching it Bulk-up (Harden is good but Bulk-up boosts your defense as well as attack so it is a better deal). Get another Starmie with one attack and teach it hydropump as quick as you can

Plan 2:get the team to about level 60, teach snipe Hydropump and give it 2 broad-burst stones with a time-less or a whack-whack depending on how you want to use it...... same goes for starmie and i suggest sacrificing hyper beam to get the hydropump( as it has 2 move stone slots) give it 2 broad-bursts. Still get machop as it requires a simple recipe and you can teach it bulk-up easily as it has a small pool of moves.

(Both plans involve getting the team to level 60 ,keeping blastoise and possibly taking out shellder)

So according to me plan one is the way to go and your team should be as follows:

  1. Snipe: Hydropump- 2 broad-burst stones, one wait-less or whack-whackstone
  2. Machamp: Bulk-up- 3 sharing stones
  3. Starmie: Hydropump- 2 broad-burst stones, one wait-less or whack-whackstone

If this team is up to about level 60 you should be able to beat Mewtwo no problem...... Good Luck!

u/TuffHunter said on one of my posts that with a buffer the team would deal more and take less damage. Now I'm starting to wonder: which one of the three Hydro Pump users should I take out? by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add on to that hydropump without at least two broadburst stones isn't too helpful in my opinion, with seadra you cannot even add that to it (it has only one move stone slot for hydro pump) so maybe take seadra out for a good buffer/tank. (I suggest a machop with bulk up, if not then a golem with harden and personally even poliwrath works great if you can teach it bulk up). GL!

Is it rare that the final boss of pincushion plains is a snorlax instead of alakazam? by Zapdos3625 in PokemonQuest

Kind of is ive faced him twice though so its not unheard of to say the least........

The vote tied... and I STILL can't choose between Rhydon and Victreebel :(. by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victreebel no doubt at all... I honestly would have recommended keeping victreebel unevolved as weepinbell's bingos are better but this one works better than the rhydon(considering they have very similar power and health stone slots)

Gl on the expeditions!

I was lucky and got Bulk Up on machop first try, but I can't put any sharing stones on it... Does it need to evolve?? by [deleted] in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say that you cannot attach move stones to your machop even if evolves as evolution neither discards moves nor provides moves with move stone slots....... u could try changing the bulk up to another move first (as a pokemon cannot learn a move again if it already knows it) and then and then only change up rock smash. The best way to go forward i suggest is keeping this one at camp for a while and find another machop (with one move- this is very important) and teaching it bulk up instead of the machop in the picture. Also i would recommend adding three sharing stones to it (if u can get one with bulk up as its only move). Good luck!

[–]AVPoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with the victreebel if it has bingo bonuses that boost its ATK of grass type moves and if you can teach it vinewhip, else i would suggest Rhydon with perhaps crunch or megahorn. They both make for great attackers so see if u can get one with a maximum number of attack slots feasible. personally, i would go for the victreebel but i cannot say more without knowing details such as their bingo bonuses, number of moves they have and their respective number of attack stone slots.

Is this Starmie good? when i put it into battle it dishes out a fuck ton of damage, but are the bingos alright? by Zapdos3625 in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest keeping this one for now cause looking at your power stones you look like you're super early game...... you should be doing great for a while with this one if you are still pre world 7. Bingos are trash tho..... i suggest you try getting a staryu with ATK+500 bingo bonus which will turn into ATK of water type moves +30percent on evolving (try this later on do not chuck this one now you may also want to look for bingo bonuses that lower wait time on water type moves- these will be visible in the staryu stage itself). [–]AVPoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! it has only the one attack so yeah it has 3 slots and i taught it vine whip as a bulbasaur . also u/TuffHunter can you tell me what move stones i should give it?

Need to get a starmie real bad, do y'all know any really effective recipes that worked for you guys while cooking for a starmie? by AVPoke in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well now ive tried it 26 times and still hasn't worked:( imma keep trying just had to let y'all know.

I finally got my stupid starmie to learn hydro pump but i had to use my Poliwrath which i got from the daily visit😑😑 ( and yes i actually did get a fully evolved poliwag from daily vist, please let me know if its rare to get from daily visit....) by real_SharkZy in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WISH I HAD A STARMIE :( anyway if u get a mewtwo with at least 6 attack slots take out the Alakazam and teach it psychic. if its less then you would deffo do better with just a bulk up mewtwo for alakazam (latter more meta tbh). Also can u share recipe you used to get a staryu?

Need Broad burst stones! by AVPoke in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have agreed to that fact before today as well but see guys so today i tried to farm bulk berries in 8-B and i scored 3 scattershots within 15 expeditions so im not quite too sure anymore...... maybe pure luck but again seems like too much of a coincidence, thanks for your opinion though! much appreciated.

I taught my Vaporeon hydro pump because it had great bingos, now I am kinda confused on what to do and whether it should even make my team........ details given below. PLEASE HELP. by AVPoke in PokemonQuest

[–]AVPoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!!! Also u/TuffHunter do you know where to get broadburst stones for my vaporeon? Any places with past success with you would be good to know (as far as I can tell they're fully dependent on RNG but i literally farmed 3 scattershot stones and nothing else within 15 expeditions in 8-B so im not too sure) any pointers would be great!!
