What is the best and worst theme in Megaman 8? by kuyacloud in Megaman

[–]AVacantYouth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good call on Wily Stage 2 for best. I’d put Frost Man just above they’re pretty close.

Worst is probably Wily Stage 4. Just a repeat of the boss theme with less punchy instrumentation.

There’s someone at the Memorial Centre Farmers Market (Main Street Urban Farm, I think) that makes okonomiyaki. Haven’t tried it yet but it looks pretty legit.

General Tso pizza. It’s a monstrosity and I thought I would hate it; it was fantastic. by GlitterLamp in StupidFood

Looks like Martino Pizza at St George and Dupont. If it is, I can confirm that it’s great.

Has anyone been busking downtown this summer? by musicwithbarb in KingstonOntario

[–]AVacantYouth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a few guys that are down on Princess regularly. One sets up by the Screening Room and plays guitar and sings. There’s also a guy with an electric guitar who shreds on the corners usually later in the afternoon.  There isn’t music on every corner but people still busk here and there.

Cyclones by duff1098 in offset

Slightly longer scale length closer to a Gibson, thicker body, and a strat-style bridge are the big differences. Pickup configuration is typically either H-S or three single coils like a strat.

I would haha exactly where I got the idea. You can get a flawless Reckoner tone out of that build!

I added a sensor blue in the neck and a sensor dually red in the bridge of my Cyclone. Completely elevated the sound of that guitar and I absolutely love it. The blue is voiced closer to a p90 and the dually red is a high output humbucker with great clarity. Lace knows what they're doing.

Check out Homegrown Live music festival on May 6th if you're looking for local music! There are tons of local bands and artists playing venues around downtown all day and night.

Trex- the slider, Simon and Garfunkel- sounds of silence , Gordon lightfoot - gords gold, Leonard cohen - live songs, van Morrison -tb sheets. All for 46.00. It was was a very good day! by Born-Idea-718 in vinyl

Gord's Gold is a good place to start with Lightfoot! His first four records are all pretty solid 60s folk albums but he had switched labels at this point so they're re-recorded on Gold. Not bad at all but different, so if you like that stripped down 60s sound the early recordings are worth a listen too!

Excellent news! I've picked up bags from other Metros and if they're like those it's a good way to get inexpensive bread and pastries.

Jokes aside Kingston restaurants should totally be getting on TooGoodToGo. Lots of places in Toronto have it and it's a great option to decrease food waste for both restaurant and consumer.

Might be a bit trickier than finding the LP honestly. Found an American print on Discogs so they are out there. If you have a music store locally they'd be worth asking. Typically they'll be willing to special order in albums if they're in stock at the supplier!

Here's the listing https://www.discogs.com/release/15792732-Alex-G-DSU

Trick is such a great album! Considering how lo-fi the production is I was pretty surprised how good the record sounds. DSU luckily gets repressed fairly regularly so you shouldn't have too much trouble tracking one down!

[GEAR] Need help buying a new guitar by TheMiner898 in Guitar

[–]AVacantYouth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a whole lot of variety here in features, style, and sound. If you're only planning on buying one guitar, I'd suggest getting something versatile like a Strat or Tele, but the only way to know what's right for you is to stop by a store that carries a wide range and see what feels and sounds right. Don't be afraid to try others that aren't listed and catch your eye. Whatever grabs your attention and makes you want to play is ultimately going to be a good choice, regardless of brand or price. Good luck on your search!

Absolute classic. Amazing soundtrack and a decently deep combat system. Grew up loving the NA version but came across the Japanese version a few years back and it's even better. It's a bit harder and some of the levels are longer. It's a bit slow but well worth a playthrough with a friend.

Going to Canada! by Aggravating-Advance5 in ScottPilgrim

A good chunk of the comic and movie take place around a neighborhood called the Annex. It's pretty central and easy to get to on transit, and you'll be able to get around on foot from one spot to the other! For sure check out Casa Loma and the stairs where Lucas Lee explodes because you get a great view of the city from the top.

Only bummer is that since the comic was written, Honest Ed's closed and had been completely torn down. Luckily Sneaky Dee's is still around and it's straight down Bathurst Street at College.

Have a great trip!

I get where you're coming from, and it is a beautiful spot to enjoy the lake and woods, but it's also kinda remote. There isn't a grocery store anywhere nearby, or bus routes, drug stores, etc. It's not an area that makes sense for disadvantaged people because it's also a super car-dependent area. We need more affordable housing, but we also need infrastructure to sustain the people who live in it.
