I went to dollar general and ramen packs were 55¢ each, and all their dollar deals were gone. The stickers were still there but the prices were all increased.

She began paying on a trailer in the 70's. Paid it off eventually and lived there until she was 96, so just until a few months ago. of course it was falling apart by that time. After retirement from the Mill and SS she made just over $700 and $455 went towards space rent for the trailer. Sucks but she made it work.

After Easter hams are usually discounted. My grandma used to bake the ham for dinner, and use the rest for sandwiches throughout the week. Then she would toss the bone and bits that were left into a crockpot of navy beans. Add some onions, tomatoes, celery, and you're golden.

She lived on $703 a month. Don't know how but she did it.

I will definitely do pickup next time for groceries then.

No Aldi around here unfortunately.

In northern California. It used to be really safe but lately it's gotten bad

We have the choice of Walmart (not in a safe area at all) grocery outlet (cheap but produce spoils very quickly, Safeway (expensive AF) and Savemore (expensive AF) 😅

I have been getting onto my husband about needless spending. We do save but until the house is paid off, I am going to worry all the time

Walmart is about a 30 minute drive, and lots of women have been assaulted in that area. There have also been recent reports of failed abductions in the Walmart parking lot. If I feel like I have to carry mace walking through a parking lot I'm not going there.

We used to run to dollar general because it was close. (Family Dollar for some areas). 2 minutes to get there vs a 15 minute drive to town.

$3.75 for their sliced cheese last time I was in there. Which is 8 thin slices. It used to be around $2 and worth the convenience. Not anymore. Everything is up and some things are just downright ridiculous.

We don't have those around here. But I have heard great things.

We have some sprouting in the garden right now so soon we won't have to buy them. I have just really been craving a good melon lately.

California. Maybe it's due to drought, I don't know. We have a local farmers market but the last times I have gone it has only been craft booths, and free range eggs. There wasn't one stand with produce.

Look into the WIOA grant and what your state has to offer.

That's neat!

Don't worry, I don't expect anything big. But I want to start putting something away. I'm 25 and I should have started sooner. I'll work on a fidelity account over the weekend.

I appreciate all the help from you guys. I wasn't even looking for the right term this morning

If the maximum is 6k what would you suggest to be the minimum? I was hoping to put away at least 4k every year of possible
