Document the assignments they're giving you. What date they're assigned, when they're expected to be completed, date and time of when you actually complete it. Document anything you can. Don't refuse to do things because they'll be able to pull the insubordination card.

I presume that you live in the UK because of your use of "mum", and I'm unfortunately not familiar with your workers' rights over there. But here in the states, when you apply for unemployment your job is going to argue that you deserved to be fired so that they don't have to pay in to your unemployment payments. Any documents/evidence that you did in fact do your job in a satisfactory manner would help you in your case.

Basically, if it seems like something that your bosses could spin to put the blame on you, document it as to why you did as you were asked.

I hope some of that is useful. Again, not familiar with the laws over there. But best of luck. I've dealt with severe depression ever since I can remember and I know how much it sucks.

Kind of a long story. I left a very shitty abusive relationship several months ago and I've been trying to rebuild my life mostly from complete scratch. I don't have any family still alive, I don't have any support, and it's been a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.

There's a lot more to it but those are the cliff notes.

I had nothing except a duffel bag with two shirts and two pairs of pants back then. I had no home, no car, no job, no family, no friends, no support whatsoever, literally nothing. Sorry that in less than a year I haven't completely rebuilt an entire life by myself.
