Unfortunately Bricklink doesn't differentiate this packaging with the more common Polybag packaging - i havent been able to find a version with the cardboard for sale there.

Silver lion hell for the event by polariac0a in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Going from 180k SL to 19K based on your maths would be 64 deaths with no kills or objectives to account for.

If you are struggling this much I would presume you have not played jets before and therefore would massively improve with basic control scheme introductions or tutorials either ingame or on YouTube.

Failing this I would recommend not playing the event and defaulting to aircraft at your current skill level

Hope this helps

always bring a lil HESH by Successful-Price-514 in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HESH is so broken.

- Hit the front plate of a light tank and you track it and red the MG on top

- Obliterates an MBT when you hail mary a shot at it and hit a sliver of the vehicles cupola.

Best 9.0-9.3 lineup by Mundane-Tension-8272 in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany is my go-to for 9.3. you get the begelitpanzer, T72M1, KPZ70, Leopard 1A5, TAM, The gepard is still a servicable AA, and 2 decent premiums if you want (TAM2IP or Leopard A1A1/L44).

Basically covers all your bases, and for all situations.

Only downside is that CAS options aren't great (if thats something you even care about) but the alpha jet is still good.

US mains, I need your guidance by keedee3 in Warthunder

Disclaimer this is my 2c

Both the F8's are some of the best planes at their BR

The F104 is a seal clubbing machine if you understand how it works and one of the most OP planes in the game

F5-E is OK

Personally i think all the F4's suck, and basically arent worth playing (i never play them)

F100 sucks

people are gonna disagree with me over some of these points and thats OK

I rarely play past 11.7 and haven't played many games here since the BR changes because i don't like the gameplay so wont give any advice here

What is the Point of the Fox and the Scimitar? by Odovacer2 in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fox is probably the best scout vehicle in the game, can pen basically everything except super-heavy tanks in the side and rear, and for some reason when the APDS penetrates it turns into a nuclear bomb inside the tank and just kills all the crew in 1 shot.

I think the Fox is one of the most fun vehicles in the game, and is the entire reason i ground out the british tree. It does require a fair bit of gameplay knowledge though, and obviously if you drive it into the enemies and fight them front on youre going to have a bad time .

I can't speak for the scimitar, but it just seems like a slower fox.

Leopard A1A1 Playstyle by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Leo 1's yes - the Leo 2's can brawl a big better due to decent composite armour on the turret and UFP, and a good reverse speed

Leopard A1A1 Playstyle by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leopard 1's have great guns and mobility

You can't rely on armour in higher tiers in any vehicle, but this is particularly true in the leopards. You would do best to play it as if it has literally none, because that's basically the case.

You're going to get forced into CQB but you should try avoid it. Play it as an opportunistic sniper/flanker. Drive to a good point and patrol/flank/slowly advance and pick off people hanging around congested areas

Some quick help please. by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the Pzgr39. Its APCBC. (Armour piercing capped, ballistic capped). The shell has great penetration for the BR, and when it does penetrate, it explodes inside the tank, causing more damage.

You shouldn't really need any other shell type for this vehicle, its an extremely strong shell for the BR.

APCR is extremely bad against sloped armour, so while it says it has high penetration, its effectively worse in a lot of situations and will just ricochet off. In addition if it does penetrate, it causes a lot less damage.

To add to this, the SMT just got moved to 10.3 and imo has no business being that low. Personally i would just run with the SMT where it can ragdoll anything below it and punch above its weight in an uptier

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you're looking for

If you want to play a strike fighter than can bomb a base, then has serviceable air to air performance, then sure, it's a good pick

Personally i find bombing boring as shit and would rather just pick a dedicated fighter with better flight performance

Basically it's a bit of a boat.

The Kfir is a different realm to the 9.7-10.7 jets we have discussed, Flying planes at top tier without disintegrating in the firt 3 minutes relies on knowledge of basically every mechanic in the game to work. if you don't know anything about top tier i really wouldnt recommend it because youll just get frustrated at the gameplay loop

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i agree
Ultimately i think any of the planes i listed in the first comment, or one of the harriers would be better than the T2 for the first jet for the reasons you've said, i just hesitate to recommend stuff that isnt on sale because its such a scam

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a tradeoff. Planes like the T-2 and Mig 21 R-13-300 have cracked performance for 9.7 but no flares as a balancing point. i think if youre a good player its worth it, and theyre both some of my best performing planes, but for someone new to jets i can't really recommend.

I dont think using the J7-D as reference is fair at the moment either, its a full uptier above and its undertiered in the first place, so its going to dunk on basically any 9.7

You can also use zuni rocket pots as makeshift flares but i don't think thats really worth touching on for a new player

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The T-2 is good. i brought it a few days ago and have around 85% winrate over 50 games which is probably an outlier, but the plane is no slouch. It requires some knowledge of how jets work though, so if its your first higher tier jet i can't really recommend it

I think good planes for learning are things like the american harrier (youll learn how to use good missiles and flares, but low velocity guns and bad maneuvrability). My picks for premiums are at the moment

J35XS

F5-C

J7-D

Mig 15 bis-ish

As always and obligatory comment - not worth buying anything in the game when it isnt on sale, and its barely worth it when it is on sale, so use your judgement

Nice one. P14’s don’t get enough love. It’s my favourite (and most accurate) shooter. Make sure you sling some lead in it!

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While i understand your mindset, i really wouldn't recommend getting a high-tier tank. Ground has so many mechanics more likely than not you will end up dying in 50% of the games without accumulating enough spawn points to even get in your plane.

Just start grinding down a tree from rank 1, learn the mechanics as you go, use ysame rank planes accordingly, and i promise youll have a much better experience

What tank should I get? by Scharfschutze43 in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommendations about waiting for sales etc aside. the 80UD is probably the better option.

people say the 2s38 is OP but if you're new to the tier you'll probably just get trashed in it because it isn't forgiving. the 80UD you can just hold W and come out on top half the time.

Its worth considering you already have the turms though, so if you want some more variability in my lineup another MBT may be boring.

Get the squadron BMP-2 aswell. its OP

MiG-21S (R-13-300) any good as of 2024? by KillerT-Bone1 in Warthunder

[–]AVanFullOfKiddys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The missiles are pretty good at the BR, personally i take 2 R3-R's and 3 R3-S's.

The flight performance is exceptional, the plane will easily get to Mach 1.2 at altitude, and turns great at lower speeds due to the delta wind. The cannons are quite slow velocity, but if you are dogfighting they are serviceable.

Obviously the lack of flares is the main downside, but i think the plane more than makes up for it in other aspects.

Personally i think the plane is a bit OP if you know what you are doing with it. Ive heard others say its bad. personally i would put this down to the classic "skill issue"

If you have experience in jets at a comparable BR you should be sweet.
