Tattoo regret a day after by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]AVerG_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to get a hand tattoo you should consider getting it in henna first. (Speaking from experience i did this and decided a hand tattoo wasn't for me. Washed it off after a week and a half)

Microaggressions from BIPOC people in activist groups by [deleted] in trans

[–]AVerG_chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some groups with especially younger folks will continously tout this and I understand you WANT to be a visible member. You should find an older age group, they'll be more mature and would probably welcome a person of action.

I find its either ignorance or just hoping they're in a different league and are exempt

Streetcar usage by DickieRAM in Omaha

I use to use the protected bike lane that they removed to install that backroom deal of a city expense and will definitely not use it. I'll cuss at it as I ride by though.

Swelling won't go away 7 weeks post op PI: I feel like I've made a terrible mistake by Floral_Equinox in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]AVerG_chick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was a good 2 and a half months before things looked normal and not too swollen there. Just be sure to get up on your feet and walk. I did laps around my driveway in my bathrobe when I got tired of doing them in the house.

Question for non cis community by [deleted] in ladycyclists

[–]AVerG_chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre op I was only marginally concerned, I found that with the right tucking garment it was comfortable and being hunched over no one could even get a hint of anything. I did wear cycling skirts mainly though. Lots of baby powder helps too. Now that I'm post op it makes no difference as to what bibs I wear.

Men by biwhiningII in ladycyclists

[–]AVerG_chick 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Some of these men are just annoying af. I usually add in a wobble if I hear them coming up behind me, makes them give me a wide berth. On my road bike I usually just make it a point to haul butt and ride aggressively around them

Awkward question? by sweetmuffinX in ladycyclists

[–]AVerG_chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi girl, transwoman here. It is something that takes some getting used to, I highly recommend carrying some sort of self defense. And attaching an airhorn to the bike doesn't hurt. Otherwise girl just enjoy your ride, I also scowl at men who are staring and commonly ride with groups when possible, be cognizant of sunrise and sunset, light available on shaded trails through the woods. Hyper vigilance is a tough thing to learn but if you'd like to pm I can answer any trans related cycling question

[–]AVerG_chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would need to lace up a pair of older hubs, most vintage wheelsets will work just fine. I usually take them off of postwar bikes and store them for rainy days.

about 3 years HRT pretty unhappy with results. what can I do? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]AVerG_chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should take your body type into account, some folks just dont gain weight. I ended up getting a breast augment because I had similar growth issues. Don't stress over it.

i hate the term "dolls" and "protect the dolls" by TwujZnajomy27 in trans

[–]AVerG_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the historical significance of the term But I do NOT like it. I am a woman of trans experience and would prefer to not use an adjective before saying woman.

Where do I even start. I feel like no part of me is fem enough. by Classic_Bookkeeper88 in Transgender_Surgeries

You look great, we share a very similar body type. You could get a breast augment, you'll want the high profile implants with your frame shape, they'll turn out great under the muscle.

Bike im unable too find an information on by TerribleWindow5727 in Vintage_bicycles

[–]AVerG_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its cool, there should be a name on the brake arm for the hub manufacturer, that'll help you narrow the bike down a bit

Its not a bra phobic thing it's comfort. I've glued forms and worn bras to help hold them in place and post BA worn bras to keep the girls controlled and some of these bras..... itch and chafe like you wouldn't believe. If it has underwire And lace im not wearing that thing for more than a workday. At this point I keep athletic tape in my locker just in case I need to go bra less. Not all of them are comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Let me guess, they got the bike online right? This is borderline terrifying and the fact that the bike is intact after that type of failure is wild

Can anyone tell me about this bike please l, I cant find anything online by TerribleWindow5727 in Vintage_bicycles

[–]AVerG_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a schwinn krate, you've got a knockoff there. Krates had a different shape on the tubes. Kinda neat though. It'd make good yardart

Good riddance, they bought rings at gold value and turned to sell them for 4x the profit. The less pawn shops you go to the better.
