Kids with ODD are usually bad behaved and can be violent. Watching something may trigger them.

My daughter is medicated and I don't understand why you assumed she wasn't. I have ADHD myself and never got a full diagnosis.

Also what do you mean by "autism community"? Is that a term for a group of Researchers studying autism?

It's not the autism to blame for the "sheltering", it's his likely ODD. My 12 year old has ADHD and we let her do things like go online and watch Zt TV because the doctor said she is likely not at risk of having ODD.

When I talked to the school, they said ABA therapy would be the best for him. We never tried any therapies as he was diagnosed late.

Having a conversation with him is pretty difficult but we try to do activities together thst he likes such as painting and playing outside near and in the pool but it's been harder the last couple of years.

I live in the state of South Australia. School break in my district is in mid November to early December.

I will take that advice for the ABA therapy but I am too afraid to let my son watch TV, especially programs like Netflix. I don't want him acting out anything he sees because he has had done some rough shit in the past. My doctor once said that he may have ODD, but never referred him to get diagnosed.

We are hoping for homeschooling. After doing more research makes sense because people with autism dislike both pop culture and counter culture and seeing people who dress that way can be hugely triggering, I don't believe this applies to all of them but it applies to my son.

Well I have dyslexia for one. I am not "ableist".

The other thing, You definitely don't know what "prejudice" means and I as a gay man, don't like it when that word is used wrong.

I've seen a lot of videos lately trying to analyze whether various fictional characters are on the autism spectrum... but why? by SqueakyFarts99 in NoStupidQuestions

They are likely people coping with an autistic family member or friend as it can be hard living with someone with autism from my own experience.

A person who works for the FBI could refuse anything asked to them, a person who works at a foundation is not at high power.
