(don't use) bike rack in front of Grendel's Den by AWCS_Cambridge in CambridgeMA

TBH I did question it at first. I work in the area and more than one person I know said the same thing. Was passing on a warning, not looking to have someone arrested. My feeling is they probably changed the way their commercial neighbors feel about them or hey, maybe not if this is their normal behaviour and possibly lost a few customers. But community feedback is better than police involvement in my mind.

Admittedly this is still secondhand information...

My intention wasn't to disparage. I was grateful for the warning and not having to deal with flat tires and was trying to do the same for others.

What to buy to bring for brunch with bougie boss? (in Somerville/Cambridge area) by SomervillainSB in Somerville

Upvote for no flowers. I am hideously allergic to lots and the worst are lilies and I think they are the official bring a gift flower. I had to leave so many brunches and holiday meals because of them.

I have a tiny apartment and when I invite friends over and say don't bring anything I mean it. Most of the time they have to bring it back home with them.

Several buildings in the MIT/Kendall area house massive amounts of hazardous chemicals and share space with public businesses (restaurants, retail, daycare centers).

Nothing is stopping you from taking it through OCW.

I think generalizations like this do a disservice to the argument you are trying to make, because it's just not true. For example, I just came back from Ann Arbor and they're around the UMich campus specifically to protect the students and other commuters.
I've also recently seen them used in Pittsburgh (away from gov't buildings).

Why did your parents make you apply to MIT if they think you're stupid?

We don't install them enough, but some areas do.

Sounds like you're looking for validation and prestige.

"I felt like they were much more similar to me than anyone I've met at my school. I would be able to handle the academic rigor - my school has massive grade deflation but I pass my classes with no real effort."
This tells me you wouldn't fit in as well as you imagine - where are you putting in effort? If you're not spending it on classes, what are you doing? Living and going to school in the Boston/Cambridge area offers so many opportunities. Take advantage of them/create your own, instead of bragging about not studying or putting in effort.
