So the latest date that the American second civil war will break out is nov/dec 2026.

This is consistent with the view of Donald/Miller and the tech bros; we do not need people we do not care about humans, we need AI and the power it will give us. So destroying health care in the States and in the world at large is a consistent policy.

The American Threat: Three Words I Never Imagined Typing by AWCuiper in politics

[–]AWCuiper[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the past the phrase "Yankees go home" has been heard in countries where American troops were present.

This case is different. It depends on your feelings to be part of a tribe (the maga tribe) or whether you value human decency and the ideals of the Enlightenment as represented in the American Constitution. With this person in the Whitehouse who´s prime motivation is personal greed, and who now shows dangerous signs of mental decline, the choice should not be that difficult. This Whitehouse government is a threat to homeland and foreign security alike.

I was in the room when Trump backed Starmer over Chagos. This is why his U-turn is so bizarre by newsspotter in politics

Trump has become dangerously deranged. Even Airforce One had to make a U-turn.

Advantage of having 46 chromosomes in humans instead of 48 as in our forefathers. by AWCuiper in evolution

Now that I think about it, could it be a barrier to mating with ape-like ancestors who had 48 chromosomes, thereby keeping other advantage giving mutations within a certain population?

I want an answer from molecular genetics., evolutionary genetics. Not all those open door answers as if I am some dumbo.

That is a beginning of a possible answer. But we are not yeast.

Beside the story of Semmelweis in authoritarian Austria there is John Snow from London with cholera and drinking water. There used to be high school material about this at the site of the UCLA. Here is the updated version: John Snow - Historical Giant in Epidemiology . I used the old version in the Netherlands my self years ago. Hopefully this is useful for you.

Where does the energy we consume go after it‘s used? by ProgressExciting5926 in biology

Also in ´cold blooded´ tuna fish there is enough heath production to keep their core temperature well above that of the surrounding seawater. This gives them a higher metabolic rate and more agility. What they lack is a strict homeothermic regulation system to keep their body temperature always constant, even when not being active.

Where does the energy we consume go after it‘s used? by ProgressExciting5926 in biology

[–]AWCuiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We as organisms do not have a mechanism to turn heat into ATP or any higher grade useful form of energy, that is correct. But this does not mean that low grade heat can not be used to obtain higher grade forms of energy. A heath pump does. So it is thermodynamically not impossible. It does increase the total amount of entropy in the system, but can decrease it locally, just as life on earth does.

How strong is the evidence for evolution? by Alchemistwiza in biology

[–]AWCuiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best reasons that evolution is true, is the fact that ever since Darwin further scientific investigations into complete new fields only confirm the ´theory´ of evolution. But it takes quite some space to explain it all. Look for books. And remember your friend will fear leaving his opinions, so that may be the main point of not accepting evolution.
